Ok, I know UT has stated specifically that the women's team didn't get an invite to the WNIT. But I haven't heard conclusively whether either of our basketball teams received an invite to anything and we turned it down. Did the men's team get an invite to either the CBI or Vegas? Doubtful, in my opinion. More curious, though, I just noticed there's another women's tournament with plenty of mid-majors-- the "Women's Basketball Invitational". Did we get an invite to that one? Anyone know?
The whole university is on a spending and hiring freeze. Kind of hard to pay your way into a tourney in that environment

If I were an AD, I would never accept an invite to the Women's Basketball Invitational. That's ridiculous when the NCAA and NIT fields are each 64 teams.
I understand both of those views--don't necessarily disagree (extra practice/games could have been beneficial, but at what cost?). My question, though, is DID we get an invite and actually turn it down. Or, did we just not even get an invite to that other women's tournament? Anyone know for sure?
