For Pitt's sake, I hope he says yes. That relationship has grown stale.

If he leaves Kevin Keatts would be a great hire for them...the current UNC-Wilmington Coach.

His seat at Pitt must be getting really hot. That's a big step down.

He played at TCU...plus TCU fans would be happy campers if he just makes them NCAA/NIT borderline teams most years...with an occasional runinto the NCAA 2nd week.
If the reports are true, for him to even be flirting with TCU says volumes to me.

His last renegotiated deal was when he flirted with the Southern Cal job.

Cheers,
Neil
Losing Dixon may not be that bad for Pittsburgh, he seems to be in a decline.
Yea his seat at Pitt been warmer over the course of the past 2-3 years. Personally i think the move to the ACC was the worst thing for him & recruiting. He just wasn't able to bring in the same kind of physical kid that he had before/after DeJuan Blair. It's probably the best move for both parties.
I think he gone

Why, what are you hearing?

Nothing in particular other than the news being recycled in the Twittersphere... Just feels different compared to the other times a west coast school wanted him. He is a TCU grad and all, plus his seat is getting warmer. (Although it's a vocal minority) There's fans on twitter wanting him to be fired due to the fact that Wisconsin is going to the Sweet 16. I think that's a flawed train of thought tho.
At TCU, it is believed the feeling is mutual. Sources close to the discussions indicated Sunday night that the sides were closing in on a deal and that Dixon was trying to assemble a staff with Texas ties. An announcement could come Monday or Tuesday, one person close to the TCU program said.

You should bring Sean Miller back to the Pitt campus. I heard years ago that his wife didn't like the desert climate.
It would be a good jump for Dixon.

The BE & ACC fans used to have these convos some years ago about who was best? BE would say we've the deeper conference and set Tourney records round-by-round. ACC would say, well we've more Titles over a certain period. BE would say, yeah, but that's just like a few teams doing it all, and it would go back-n-forth like this.

Well, they've combined most of the best elements of the two and have made something that you really have to Want; and have that A++++ Alpha-Male Gene in ya to want to coach here or it's just not yer thang!

It's like Jurassic World::: This creature of such surpassing LETHALITY has been created and it's just dominating---and you really cannot deal with it because it is simply Toooooo dangerous. And we're only really operating at ~60% efficiency right now anyway.

It's another reason why Espinner and some of the other conferences want this conference dead. It makes 'em look B-A-D.

So yeah, if Dixon's hit his ceiling --which I feel he did like 5 or 6 years ago-- then he prolly should mosey right along....

If he's leaving, you can bet that he knows his eventuality at Pitt. He would never leave if he was still winning at the rate he was five years ago. You really cant blame him.
Dixon may be finding that heat in the kitchen is a little more than he bargained for.....
At TCU, Dixon could find that winning in the Big 12 is just as hard as winning with Pitt in the ACC or Big East was.
I'm cool with Dixon moving on. While I'm not a big BB fan, I'm tired of seeing Pitt bounced in the first round, 2nd round or not making the tournament at all. It's been bad since DeJuan Blair left the program. The team is both average in speed at best and average in strength/power at best. Deep bench my ass...

He won't be expected to win championships in the Big 12 as that honor always seems to go to Kansas (twelve in a row?)

Well, if he's lucky, Kansas and Oklahoma could move to the SEC. Pittsburgh is close to West Virginia, so maybe he has some insider info from the Dude. 05-stirthepot
