Posturing for contract extension?
This has to be a joke, right? Cronin wouldn't possibly leave his family and alma mater behind for a lesser job...
Works for me if true. That would save us from having to pay for the buyout and messy media coverage from firing.

? 5-6 years left on his contract.
Maybe trying to get more money in the budget for recruiting, assistants, etc. Can't see him leaving for UNLV, especially since he has passed on interviews for bigger programs.

OK, to all those who want Mick to leave/get fired: Please state a viable, REALISTIC candidate.

John Wooden is in between gigs (just trying to be as realistic as some posters).

I don't want Mick fired, I want him to coach some F'ing offense. But if Mick leaves I think UC still has a lot to offer a lot of coaches. Cincinnati is still a big step up for a lot of mid majors.
If I'm Bohn and Ono, it may be time to tell Mick he can't do this every time he wants a raise. I'd say, win a conference championship or make a Final Four and you'll get your raise.

Also, I'm shocked no posters have assumed that this means we are not going to the Big 12 yet.

Next up I'm sure Daugherty will find time between his week long love letters to xavier to write something about how Mick should take the UNLV job because it's so much better than UC.

I think most of us just assume it has zero chance of actually being legitimate.

If it were UL after Pitino is canned, perhaps I'd consider it possible.
Maybe Mick likes Vegas? Maybe his Ex would like to live out there with Sammy. Who knows. UNLV BBall is a big deal out there.
They have an 18,000 seat arena that is modern and just had a 70 plus million renovation.

Jerod Haase, Jeff Capel, Brad Underwood to start. All would be upgrades.
Sources also told The Enquirer that UNLV is making a pitch to land Cronin.

UNLV? Really? I don't think so.

Now Huggs in his heyday, that I could see. 02-13-banana
Could there be a more unlikely match than "The Runnin Rebels" and Cronin's style of play ? 05-nono
