I don't understand. Can someone explain what happened? I'm having trouble understanding what the cause of all this was.

As of now
1. Coach Harper's contract was up and nobody knew if it was getting renewed
2. A non NCAA issue has caused 3 players to be suspended (private school matter by law) so nobody really knows
3. Harper decided to resign ( probably because of the no contract thing and it is possible he knew whatever the 3 players had done and ignored it) pure speculation
4. looking for a new coach
5. Unless police become involved, nobody may ever really know what happened with the 3 players

Just to add a little color, last time we had a coach search of this magnitude everybody, myself included, thought Bobby Knight was about to be named our next coach. Word on the street is we've got a new GIANT one on the horizon

I've heard Travis Ford Mentioned with that opening a few times, but I couldn't see you guys hiring a UK grad.
I heard via ESPN that Ford is slated to be hired as Pitino's Ass't.
