Reggie Upshaw hits two free throws with 2 seconds to go to win 55-53.

Congratulations. They have endured a lot of injuries this year and persevered. Hope they make a lot of noise.

I also wonder if they will be able to hang on to Kermit Davis. He has been fairly successful. But he has been there forever.
Reggie Upshaw - MVP
I prefer MTSU going over WKU mainly because WKU's coach seems like a major dick.
I had my doubts until they handled Marshall towards the end of the season. Even then, the tournament was still wide open and they made the most of the opportunity. I hope they do well.
WKU fans are mostly alright. Can't stand their coach though. Definitely glad for MTSU. Good to see ODU make it to the finals. Good for us but I'm sure they will really miss Freeman next year.
MTSU is a good representative. They had a very good season from start to finish and endured the loss of their best player for extended stretches. I was kinda hoping ODU would win because Freeman is the kind of player who would be great to watch on the big stage.
Kermit deserves a championship. MT finishes above us in the RPI at 78. Will be interesting to see if they are seeded at a 14 or 15.
Who does MTSU return next year?

I know they lose Upshaw and Buford. Potts is only a sophomore and they have a transfer from Arkansas sitting out this year.
Every fan I met was very nice. Not one jerk in the bunch.

Attendance at championship game was 5,519.

A good blazer turnout helped.

Upshaw is a junior this season.
If the next tournament is not a few hours' drive for UAB and MT fans, attendance will suffer.
The tournament is central if I'm Birmingham or Nashville. Problem is the SEC is holding court in Nashville.
Thanks for the kind words. I rescind my recscinding of support for #FreeUAB 04-cheers
I sat in the Middle of several UAB fans and all were really nice. There were a lot of you there, so thanks for supporting!
We lose three players for those that asked. All three started yesterday: Buford, Harris and Raymond. All will be missed. We do have a transfer from Arkansas that is a Birmingham native that some of you may be familiar and another 6'10" kid that were sitting this year. Hopefully that helps fill the void.
The municipal auditorium is available and its big enough. Bridgestone is too big. It's much bigger than legacy.
There are several conferences that host in Nashville. Normally municipal is booked too.
I was told there is a window for us by some MTSU officials. I was busy and didn't bother to look. I was working the tourney and didn't have time to check schedules and dates. I assume if they are bidding they would have that worked out.

Not going to list all who said they are bidding but it's the usual suspects including us.
So we are bidding for next year? Someone said we weren't.

As far as Nashville, is Ryman Auditorium available? 03-lmfao
How often are the same two schools competing for both the MBB and WBB championships in the same year?
