This is an organic rivalry.

Great game to both teams. You both deserve a ncaa bid

Tried to talk with UConn fans at the game...not very friendly and very arrogant and cocky....nothing like the old days when UC and Memphis fans got along and wished the other team success ...UConn fans acted like they were too good for this tourney

Every fan base has jerks including UC. No reason to judge the whole fan base on a few. Great game as always Huskies. Do they all have to go down to the wire thus shaving years off of my life? Jeez.
Good luck to UConn and good luck to HuskyU.

In their defense they were promised a rodeo.

Tough game cincy.

Well, in their defense Jeff Lebo was there coaching.07-coffee3

Or not coaching depending on your prospective.
Great game... UConn deserved it

i don't care for k. ollie - he's always whining and making expressions / body contortions, like he's getting tased or something. I think he's a j/o. I think that it's natural that some of the fan base, in an emotional game like yesterday, just do what the coach does - act like an ass. it doesn't faze them that uc swept them in the regular season, and that they needed a f*#n prayer at the end of the third OT. like somebody noted, all fanbases have "people" like that, so its a problem we all have in common.

ps - I think mick was wrong after the game, 1) to even bring up timing issues at the end of the 3rd OT - you look like a sore loser, and 2) factually - I think that the shot was ok. again, its a coach coming out of a very emotional, big game. but, come on, mick, just congratulate both teams, and get past it.

here's another thought I had on the end of the third OT - should UC have called a timeout, to set up adefense, instead of running down the court in a group man hug? maybe, you foul immediately - even if UConn shoots 2 freethrows, you're up 3? or, maybe, you just set up a token defense on the inbounds play? uc only had to play defense for the blink of an eye. I don't know. I understand letting the play go - the odds on that shot are astronomical. still, I just a feeling that maybe uc could've handled the .8 seconds a little differently.
I think maybe the most overlooked play from this game was Caupain driving the ball up court at the end of the 2nd OT for the final shot. He was clearly bumped and redirected by a UConn player. It is a textbook foul and unfortunate for UC that the officials swallowed their whistles.

IMO both teams aced the eye test and without a doubt should receive tourney bids.

It was a good game. Kids on both teams left it all on the floor. No complaints.

UCONN is UC's kryptonite in March....More aptly, UCONN is the Steelers to UC's Bengals. We know its coming....just not sure when the gut punch is coming in these games.

Go win this thing and make a run in the NCAA's.

I should say first it was a great game, one of the best I've ever seen, but i'm not surprised with UConn and Cincy.

My only thought or second guess was your point about the time out. I was surprised that UC didn't use it there also, especially once it started taking UConn a while to throw the ball in. Deciding to take a TO there is a tough call especially since the game was moving so fast so i wouldn't say it was a mistake, more a missed opportunity.

Great game by both teams, i think UC is a lock and UConn may be as well, congrats UConn.

I agree with that as well, I thought that could have easily been called a foul but in defense of the refs when it comes to calling fouls they were in a very difficult position. By the start of overtime clearly the emotional level of the game was running at a level 10 out of 10 which leads to more physical play. Both teams were making an effort to drive the ball inside first before settling for outside shots which leads to more contact and if the refs started calling everything they saw, especially after the first OT concluded you could have easily had a game decided by players on the court who are backups deep down the bench, and no one really wants to see that.

I will agree it was a tough break for UC because that could easily have been called.
