The Establishment's golden boy in his last week.
Yep. They'll have to accept it and embrace Cruz. Got to be a tough pill to swallow for many.
Please let Cruz and Rubio get on the same page and go ahead and announce a ticket together.
There is a report over on Fox News here:
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/03/...tcmp=hpbt1

In that report, it appears the Rubio campaign tried to put out some misinformation, get another campaign to bite, and fundraise off of it. CNN reported that at least two insiders of the Rubio campaign were talking about dropping out of the race prior to FLorida, because he couldnt risk losing there.

It appears the Rubio campaign leaked that story out in the hopes that CNN would run with it, the Cruz campaign would report on it, the spokesman for Rubio was to be on Anderson Cooper later and he would refute it and blame Cruz, and then Rubio could fundraise off of the "Cruz lies."

So it gets launched. CNN reports that two Rubio campaign insiders say he is looking at getting out prior to Florida. Cruz volunteers in Hawaii pick it up (but not the Cruz campaign themselves), and then the Rubio spokesman arrives to go on with Anderson Cooper to say it was all a lie and is not true, and Cruz is up to his tricks again. Only one problem, the Rubio spokesman's spot on Anderson Cooper was cancelled. So they werent able to quickly shoot down the "rumors" that they themselves planted.

Rubio did try to fundraise off of it, something Fox or CNN pointed out.

And you believe that?

That's just the most ridiculous spin I have ever heard. Some people's discussions got leaked. Now they are trying to deny and downplay it.

He needed to seriously consider dropping out after Super Tuesday. He needs to think hard about it after yesterday.
Rubio was done when Chris Christie exposed and embarrassed him on national television.

He rebounded at the next debate against Trump and should have quit then, he still might have been a VP candidate. Now his political career is over.
Fox seems to be trying to protect the little snowflake. There's this bit in the article:

"There’s a larger issue here, and it has to do with the media drumbeat for whether a candidate—which can become so loud that it drowns out the person’s message and hastens the process.

The Jeb Bush death watch became such a prominent feature of his coverage that it seemed almost anti-climactic when he quit on the night of the South Carolina primary."

And who was constantly beating the drum that Jeb should drop out and that Jeb's employees were looking for jobs with Rubio's campaign-yes-Marco Rubio's people. We're getting crocodile tears here. They were talking about Jeb getting out after he beat Rubio in New Hampshire.

He did better in the next debate no question, but Chris Christie threw a haymaker. Made him look like a joke that can't think on his own.
The really sick part about this is that all the discussion is about how losing Florida would impact Rubio's political future. Its all about him. Not about the party. Not about the country.

Politics is just really drawing so many narcissists.

True but he did the same to Trump the next debate. The last debate negated all of his work that he put in on Trump. He might be able to recreate that tomorrow but Trump will be ready.

Saving Marco Rubio. He is the chosen one by the establishment.

I think I'd take Kasich over Rubio.

Rubio is toast. His small hands routine permanently paints him as juvenile. And maturity and judgement was already an issue-Christie just put a magnifying glass on it.

Rubio's future as a politician may be in peril. IMHO, the establishment is trying to use him as a stooge. Anything to torpedo Trump. I wonder what quid pro quo there will be for him. It's pretty obvious that he's there to take Trump down as opposed to trying to win it himself. His reward? Most likely, a leadership position within the party. My bet is to be the #2 man behind Rancid Prebus...

ETA, either he's the #2 behind Prebus and takes over the GOP party apparatus when Prebus moves on or someone puts him in charge of a PAC where he can siphon off some dough to enrich himself. I see both as the most likely options because he torched his political career for the next decade IMHO.

that's the GOPs only hope to stop Trump at this point...

Ted Cruz with VP Rubio would appeal to the non-Trump conservatives.

Together they have been garnering more votes than Trump in almost all the states. I've soured a lot on Rubio the past couple weeks, but I think him as a VP is infinitely better than Trump as president.

Honestly I don't see how. Rubio is radioactive now. Maybe Rubio is a cabinet trinket in a hypothetical Cruz administration, but as VP that's a disaster. Maybe Rubio could back Cruz like Christie is backing Trump, but not on the ticket. That ship sailed when Rubio became unhinged.
The establishment & Jeb spent 8 months of attack ads on Marco Rubio, who was the only viable alternative for them. But Rubio weathered that fairly well. What he couldnt weather was the stigma that came with him suddenly being the establishment candidate. Its the kiss of death this cycle. And Marco should have known that. But he just couldnt pass up all of that potential money. Now he is looking just like Jeb Bush with that money. And the same results too.
