He will have a better resume than anyone we can hire.

Mark it down.
So?
"Fired in disgrace after tanking a once-great program" is a better resume than anyone we can hire?
OP is a horrible fan if he really thinks this way about JP. The program>the coach

"Better"?
Nah - it's obvious that sherry's been trolling for weeks now, folks.

I am willing to bet our new coach will be better than barely over .500 overall and right at .500 in conference play over the past two years, not to mention no post season tournaments the past two years... But keep crying. 05-sosad
Nominee for "Thread Title of the Year" award. Shere Khan should change his signature to "Multiple 'Thread Title of the Year' and 'Darwin Award' nominee, Shere Khan"
Well, not to join the thread title police, mainly b/c I don't care, but this is one of the worst. No shame on the OP, there is humor in this and I did click it.

No harm no foul, just funny.

As far as the resume, it's really pretty good.

4/7 NCAA
5/7 postseason
multiple top 25 recruiting classes
a handful of guys in the league
conference championships in CUSA
graduation rates off the charts

It's not that JP isn't good. He's plenty good.
He's just not doing well enough for Memphis the past two years.

No shame in that. A somewhat lesser program will get a hell of a good coach for their needs and we'll all wish him well.

But here, we expect (fairly) some S16 / big wins. He hasn't delivered, so he will be relieved.

No hard feelings, just business.

I mean, I guess Mike Davis (for example) had a better resume than Josh Pastner when we hired Pastner, but why is that important?

Yep, I overspoke, I got two, thought it would be at least three (I forgot Elliott wasn't around anymore). My bad.

Two:
WBarton - Nuggets
TBlack - Lakers

My error.

It's not.

Results > Resume.

Seriously, thats a good resume. Who are we gonna hire with a better one.

It is a fair point. I fixed the thread title for the crybabies

Pastner's resume is a good one? No, it's not. Only an idiot would think that. If people thought he had a good resume then he'd be employed elsewhere by now.

Does it look decent if you pick and choose what to include in it, like Sundance did above? Of course.

But let's put in the NCAA tourney w/l record; the record against top 25 teams; the conference record in the AAC; the transfers; the losses to 200+ ranked teams.

He doesn't have a good resume, that's absurd.
I can't wait for all the significant programs that will express interest in Josh when he's officially available ... for head coach.
Not about resumes anymore, it's about money. fans aren't coming to games anymore and donations are dropping faster than flies in a freezer.
His resume is his resume

The team/program is a dysfunctional runaway train

If SK is being generous, I think you're being slightly harsh.

I think he's good. He's just not good enough for here. I don't think this makes me an idiot. It just means I see different programs = different expectations / fits.

He very well might succeed at a program with a different culture and lesser expectations. It's clear his tenure here is ending, for good reason I'd add.
