Seems obvious to me Providence and 1 more get in, 2 if someone steals or ensures itself via the auto-bid.

Right now it is tough to say. The Friars are likely sitting right on the bubble. If they win a few down the stretch, they make it. If they falter, they are out. It's all on them. Obviously the top two are in. A surging Creighton squad or a decent SH team can crash the party in the tournament. I'd guess right now, one of SH and Providence finds the wins they need to make it three, and one of the tourney bound teams wins the auto bid.

We have to assume a stagnant track. Of course anyone can buck the trend at any time but barring a collapse, which could happen, Providence is in.

Nova and Xavier are in. Providence ranked at #20 should make it, their tough games left are @ Xavier and @ Seton Hall. Seton Hall has an RPI of 49 currently with Providence and Xavier left.

I think they easily get 3, they have a decent shot at 4 with Seton Hall, and if a dark horse like Creighton gets hot and wins the BET they can get 5. I feel like 4 is likely.

they have 3 top 20 teams..so yes...this would have been a debate at more than 3 not 2

Nova, Xavier, and Providence are in. The rest are very bubbly. With how soft the bubble is this year, I think they'll get 5 total bids.

I think Providence is becoming bubbly. Their #21 might be a bit of a mirage at this point. Trending downward.

The BE over the past couple of years has severely underperformed their seeding. Villanova was a 1 seed last year, and a 2 seed the year before, yet were bounced both years in the first weekend. Their RPI numbers look good, but its all paper and fluff.

UCONN seems destined for that 8/9 seed this year. I really hope Nova is the #1 in our region.

The Creighton AD is on the selection committee.

I would say four easily, with a outside shot at five. The conference SOS is very high.

Villanova, Xavier, Providence, Creighton/Seton Hall. If Seton Hall does damage in the conference tourney then it's a full five bids.

They should be able to get two into the Sweet 16.

I agree with 4/5 conference bids, but to suggest that they should get 2 teams in the Sweet 16 is pure BS.

If UCONN gets in the tourney, I like their chances to go farther than any new Big East school.

Creighton is no where close to a bid at this point. RPI in the 80's, 2-6 against the top 50, 4-8 against the top 100, a loss to sub-200 Loyola-Chicago, non-conference SOS is 283. Good news is that the Kenpom is 40 and the 8-5 Big East record is solid. Have to steal a road game against Butler, Xavier, or Providence. Problem is that if they beat Providence or Butler they might knock that school out but still leave themselves right at the fringe of the bubble. Mentioned earlier it helps to have your own AD on the committee but its hard to look past the non-conference SOS numbers which historically eliminates teams from the conversation.

I think Xavier is a dangerous team. My issue with them will be when they have to go and play in a "contested" arena where their fans are outnumbered.

X hasn't played well on the road. They've scraped some wins, but I don't know if they can take a top 15 team in a hostile environment.

Which means nothing because he would have to leave the room when the selection committee discusses Big East teams.

Actually, the SOS for the Big East isn't high.

right now- Big East has Nova, Xavier, PC as locks just about. Seton Hall needs 1 win out of 4 tough games. Butler and Creighton extremely bubbly right now. Both had poor OOC schedules- with Creighton in the putrid category.

That scenario would result in a win for the AAC.
