The Board of Regents just (minutes ago) voted to withdraw from the EAA. This is largely symbolic, as the Michigan legislature will vote to end the EAA long before June 2017. Here's the press release: http://www.emich.edu/univcomm/releases/r...1454613748

EMU also announced the launch of a fermentation science program. Alongside alcohol, students will learn of the scientific fermentation processes in other foods. Cheers to that! 04-cheers

Did one of our posters send a big check (for Rynearson)? 03-lmfao

Don't be modest. If you did it, you'll get 4 of these: 04-bow

Seriously, what does 350K do?

Still nothing big announced???? 05-nono

BTW, EMU has been spending big bucks on buildings over the last 5+ years. Strong, I believe, was one much, much needed of love and money.

"The new budget plan follows a period of unprecedented capital investment at Eastern. The five years from fiscal 2008-09 through 2013-14 included capital spending of more than $220 million. Approximately two-thirds of the spending was invested in academic facility enhancements, including the Science Complex addition/renovation and the renovation of the Pray Harrold classroom building."
Dear Frank,
Thanks for that news. The problem is that it (EAA) will still be here for more than a year, but at least Eastern is withdrawing. Just another failed project, wasting tons of money, for that our governor is responsible. At least our regents finally did the right thing.

Yes, I'm curious how much $350,000 will do for the stadium. It's definitely not nothing, but will fans notice differences?

How much would a new scoreboard cost?

Maybe I should've made a new thread for this.
According to report: 100k is for painting and aesthetics, 250k is for concrete repair.

It will cost 350K to get rid of the mold.

The 350k is to fix the seats and hand rails that have come lose.07-coffee3
It is my understanding that the $350,000 is for structural improvements to the concrete, for instance the handrails that are unsecured/broken. crumbling areas underneath the stands, many have seen the fenced off areas, broken steps, patching interior walls facing the field etc... I know it doesn't sound like a lot of money but the fixes are desperately needed and while we can argue about the track/atmosphere at Rynearson, the concrete fixes will make the place look nicer.
