although not where we most needed it. Ga Southern beat Arlington and knocked them down to .500 in conference.

At the moment we have a 1 1/2 game lead over UL. Then a 3 game lead over Ark State.

UL has the favorable schedule headed down the stretch. They have four road games, but only one of them against a team .500 or better.
UTA is toast. May struggle to make it to New Orleans.

Amazing that the loss of one player has had such a huge impact on a team.
I thought all the teams were going to the tournament this year. Or is that next season?

Certainly not this year. New Orleans has been extended one year, so I'm not sure about it changing next year either.
I thought I had read somewhere that they were changing it back to all eleven, at least at some point.

Realistically, how many DI programs wouldn't be devastated by the loss of a player who was there leading scorer and rebounder? Luckily, we are not reliant on any one player. But, I do think losing Shoshi could be quite devastating to us- maybe a little less so with Green getting some playing time- because of our lack of size.
Not just the loss, but having to re-design everything in mid-stream.
Certainly have some empathy for UTA. I've seen what the loss of a key player can do to a team too many times around here (Mike Smith, Will Neighbour, and James White are recent examples). I could include Stevie Moore, but that was a crazy coaching decision, rather than an injury. Suspend him for a game, but don't kick off a local kid that was the engine that ran the team. Stevie's mom sat with us for 3 years so this is kind of a sore point with me.

Next year we will have 12 teams and all 12 will go to the tournament in N.O. then. They will probably add one day to the tournament as still using one court.

Adding a day sucks, but I highly doubt our men will be playing a first round game regardless.
