It's like they decided to quit. I never say anything negative about the team and I have always tried to support the coach, but this was hard to watch. Can't imagine anything positive coming out of this season at this point.
They didn't look interested enough to fight back, and I don't get that a-tall. Shots go in or not, you struggle at various other aspects of the game at times, I understand that stuff. But tossing in the towel like they seemed to do was very disappointing.

He probably just said "keep making shots and we'll be fine".
Unfortunately, you have to take shots to make them.
With just under 5 minutes left in the game, Memphis had only three field goals in the half and had only taken nine shots. UConn remained comfortably in front the rest of the way as the Memphis fans made an early exit.
idk? The team was actually running an offense in the 1st half, even basketball dummies like me could see it. But they didn't do that in the 2nd half. UConn quickly hit some buckets, took a lead and the team fell apart. Panic maybe? Not believing in themselves to come back maybe? Who knows. It was ugly, particularly one player looked real bad.

This team has been noted in the past as one that keeps fighting. Just so damn sad about it all.
When the second half began, obviously the guys were in man to man after the zone worked so well in the first half.
Then we immediately went down by 4 and nothing was changed.
Ballgame.
