Well...looks like the noose around Cuttcliffe's neck got a little loosened yesterday.
Bottom line in my book is Ole Miss is 2-0 in the SEC, which makes them tough still, and makes everyone else take notice.
It's a 4 team race in the West right now....Auburn's win doesn't have me feeling all wonderful about playing them next week either. This is gonna be another great SEC shootout year. The only difference this year is that, without a doubt, the West is better than the East.

Yessir, I think the whole playing field has been at least levelled. Tenn., Fla., Geo. and the other three also rans in the East have either been brought down to our level or we've raised our play to theirs. Hawgs are looking strong so far. Should be a fun year in the west. :)
Roger that, the Hogs, and LSWho are looking real tough this year. If we could get a win over one of em, it would be huge. I know Auburn whipped UT, but they are still very one deminsional and very beatable IMHO. Good luck to the hogs except when you come to Oxford!

Personally...given the rankings... I think they're on a downslide, and we're on a major upswing.
Improved recruiting is one major reason, facility improvements is another. Heaven knows UA should have an incredible recruiting year in Texas after winning in Austin. We've signed some good OL and DL so far, and grabbed Alex Mortensen (son of ESPN's Chris Mortensen) out from Georgia.
I think the other reason is that the West has improved because of top to bottom play. The East usually has Vandy and 1 other gimme every season. The West rarely has a gimme...lately it's been MSU, but even they have the ability to pull the upset. We keep beating each other up, yet we've all improved because of it. Look at the quality of the SEC West this year. Four SEC West teams are undefeated in conference play, UA and LSU are undefeated overall (knocking on wood). Not one team in the SEC East is undefeated in conference play.
We're getting football, we've had baseball, UA has track to themselves....the West is starting to take over.
