Last year the weather was horrible so I didn't make it, hope to see some of you there this year.
Did anyone happen to attend? Any new coaches introduced to fill the DL and CB voids?
I did attend they had the spring enrollees and some players there as well as coaches, wish more students would attend. Parker has some type of knee injury. Nice event cash bar. To answer your question I heard that there will be an announcement soon on the CB coach but the DL coach may take a bit longer. I would expect the CB coach to be in place prior to spring ball not as sure about the DL coach. For those local guys a good chance to talk and mingle with the players and coaches in a relaxed setting. It was about half filled with fans. Really should be 100% filled with fans. Something to shoot for next year to show our appreciation for the coaches and staff who really looked exhausted last night but also looked at those they were pleased with this group of recruits.
if the rumor I heard was right our new CB coach is a former p5 asst
Who's rumored?

Ron English? (I just kidding, but couldn't resist. But he does meet all of the qualifications: P5, DB coach, knows MI and the MAC, etc.)
Once announced I think fans will be pleased, now about that DL coach.

Or at least what team or conference so we can do some digging.
sorry guys I heard a "rumor" I am surprised that the footballscoop hasn't picked up on it, all I can say I understood our potential CB coach was far along in the process, but as you know until a contract is signed well...

Fred Reed formerly of Syracuse is what Footballscoop is now reporting.

That's the name I heard. Excellent addition:

Definite upgrade in coaching personnel at that spot. I wonder if he had any connections with our staff at his previous stops.

Looks like he coached our former coach Bullocks with the Lions. Wonder if Bullocks gave his endorsement for his former mentor.
just an observation:

Does CC now seem established enough to be able to entice better quality coaches to come to EMU? Those who might become available for one reason or another (usually changes in coaching staffs from where they were).

My guess would have been it was hard for CC to recruit assistant coaches as he was moving up as a first time FBS HC coming from a lower level FCS school.

Couple thoughts, mostly obvious:

1). Has good experience within the MAC, including being a DC for a MAC championship team.

2). Has an extensive record coaching defensive backs.

Seems like Reed + EMU = excellent match.
re dl coach, this guy just became available lots of nice MAC coaching experience in his resume:

So if I read his bio correctly: Career MAC asst coach + 2 years at Indiana.

Now available - looking for a new job.
