We could still make the dance the same way by winning CUSA tourney 03-zzz

However finshing first in regular season would guarantee a NIT bid and beating Marshall would put us back in 1st04-cheers
I'm nervous about the Marshall game. With our performance tonight, they are playing the best basketball of anyone in the league. We'll need to play one of our best offensive games of the year to win since they're scoring a ridiculous 90 points a game.
Whoever wins Saturday is the team to beat in CUSA, imo. Marshall hasn't played a poor game since conference play started. Even when they lost to Charlotte they still played pretty well. Agree that we will have to finally have a complete game to beat Marshall at their place. It seems crazy but we will likely have to win the regular season title to secure an NIT bid, if we were to lose in the tournament. It would be a shame if a team this talented was sitting at home in March.

I hate the NIT
I take that back. I don't hate the NIT but I feel this team deserves NCAA with the talent we have. I'll be upset if we don't go to the NCAA.

Absolutely agree but the NIT is better than nothing and nothing is better than those other crap tournaments.
Marshall has some good fans on these boards, but overall they have a higher ******* quotient than any other CUSA fanbase here. And the things they do with vegetables ... They must be defeated.

Have to win the regular season, no excuses. If we don't win the CUSA tournament the NIT is a solid consolation prize, and the athletic dept would benefit from the additional revenue. I am sure we would at least get a home game or 2.
I don't hate the NIT. I just don't care about it is all.

I never thought I'd say it, but Marshall is the team to beat in the conference this year. Ours guys are plenty quick enough to close on them. The major concern this time is the cold stretches could straight up lose them the game at any given time. The key to beating Marshall is disrupting their tempo. Slow the game down, don't get caught in their pace, etc. It's going to definitely be an entertaining game. It's too bad they weren't putting people down in OOC play, but it's nice to see them playing well.
I was more worried about WKU. We take care of business tomorrow.
Marshall shot 36 threes last night. Most games they take at least 30. Let them take that many. Just make sure they miss.
I like our matchups better than I did last night. We will pay WKU back later.
If you didn't like the matchups last night, why will they be better in a couple of weeks at home? WKU didn't look like a very talented team to me. We should have beaten them. We played a poor game.
Because we will be at home.

You answered your own question.
-we'll be at home
-WKU not as talented as UAB
-we should have beaten them
-we played a poor game
I don't think the match up with WKU was the problem. We're a better team than they are across the board, we just played an awful game. Marshall does cause legitimate match up issues because they can match talent with us at nearly every position, except for what we have off the bench.

I would like to see us remove the NIT banners in Bartow Arena...NCAA or bust
If the matchups were the problem, then the home or away setting doesn't matter.

UAB had no business losing that game last night period. Now I totally do not expect UAB to win tomorrow afternoon. Early tip, hot team, 3 pt shooters, less time to prep spells a road beatdown for our guys. Hope I'm wrong.
