It's a long, 18-game season for the title. This league is extremely competitive from January to March, and absolutely abhorrent before then.

For all the blame of the refs, we benefitted from bad calls too. Norton had the all time Clipper worthy flop on the half court trap.

Totally agree. Hopefully this will be a blessing in disguise and focus the team on what's really important. The win streak was great, but we really had no chance at an at large.

too bad none of those bad calls led to us getting free throws, though.

Can you name any others? The officiating was really bad. Just admit it. We played poorly and lost. The officiating also sucked. Those things aren't mutually exclusive..

It's kind of nice that this loss means nothing, but it's a shame that the hype will settle down some.

Cokley has cooled off majorly from early in the season. It's like he and Lee have switched bodies..

Tough loss but still tied for 1st in the league. Marshall game will be a big one. Coming off a loss, you can bet our team will be focused on this game. Long way to go in the season and regular season championship is very much still a possibility. As we all knew, an at large bid was always going to be a long shot. Take care of business in Birmingham and we will be just fine.

Coach just said on the postgame that we haven't played a complete game all season. I agree.

I agree. It was nice to see Lee continue coming into form. Would be nice if we could get more solid production out of Mehinti and Cokley. Both seem to have lost some steam.

Never can seem to win when we are on national tv normal Channel. You know, when people are actually watching. Played terrible. Refs suck, no excuse to be in double bonus with 10 mins left. But, we should know that the refs have been horrific all year. To never even lead the game vs a .500 team is very dissapointing. This team has a loooong way to go. Still think we're the favorite to win championship.

The play where we had the 3-1 break with a chance to take the lead and turned it over was a microcosm of the entire game. Every time we were on the cusp of getting a tie or the lead our shot wouldn't fall or we had a careless turnover.

Not at all. I'm super grateful we have quality internet instead of the likes of Comcast. Either way, it had the makings of a trap game and it definitely ended up being one.

I'll have to review the stats to really get a clearer picture of what went down. This breaks up any illusions of being ranked and all that, but nothing has changed. It's all about not dropping games in the tournament so losing now isn't not more than fleeting concern.

Didn't say it wasn't bad. Most of the calls against us were legit because of bad defense. They didn't make the calls against them. Part of that is because they were driving to the goal and we were shooting from outside.

Madison didn't play at all. I think it's his first DNP this year.

Telling comments from Aaron Cosby postgame – said Tops felt UAB was looking past them toward Marshall. That made the difference.
