A coach makes many decisions. Some on the court and some off the court. Main off the court decision is who to recruit and being able to do it.

The other is game decisions. And no coach is going to make the right decision every time. Sometimes we think because a coach is a big time winning coach, they are right in every decision they make. It's not possible. Sometimes a substitution during the game works out, and other times it doesn't. There is a certain amount of luck involved.
And sometimes the ball just won't go in the basket. A coach can't control that.

So the main way we judge a coach is his won -loss record. And I've never seen a coach's won-loss record that didn't include a lot of losses.
Yes. The great coach has many more wins than losses, but there will be losses. Is it because he's a bad coach. No. Nothing is 100%, and coaches, like all of us, are not perfect. So I try not to make judgements on every move our coach makes. I know he'll make some I don't agree with, but he normally will have a reason for those moves that I don't know about. And sometimes those moves will not work out. That's where the luck comes in. Maybe you get your players to the free throw line, but they miss the free throws. Coach can't change that. So in conclusion.....................

Over time. Even a very good coach hits a rough patch once in a while.

Even the best women's coach in the state. But, we know he'll come out of it. He didn't get to be a Hall of Fame coach for nothing. I would guess he might recruit over some of our present players this year.
He'd better.
