Not sure why they are calling this a tough environment? Yes, NIU is having a good year but since when did half a season make for a tough environment when fan support is still very low, but improving.

And what is their average attendance? 500? 600?

the picture looks like NIU is playing a junior high team.....
03-lmfao You're right. And pretty close - Roosevelt College.
Crowds aren't the only thing that makes an environment challenging. The LACK of a crowd could be hard to manage if you're used to noise or playing on a butt ugly floor or in a dfferent time zone. The Rockets have shown some signs of gelling a bit lately- here's hoping they put it all together tonight.

+1. Even with low attendance, we seem to have a home court advantage. The lack of crowd excitement lulls the other teams to sleep. Our players are used to it! Hope as the crowds get bigger, we can keep our advantage. 04-cheers

That may not be an advantage here. Our team has demonstrated the ability to fall asleep for long stretches in front of large, raucous crowds.
Looks like the environment was too tough for Toledo.

We've had over 1000 for most games this year, and had 3200 tonight....but okay. Go Huskies

They beat our ass twice but we get bigger crowds. That's a real comfort.

That is a good showing for NIU crowd wise and its been a long time since they had a good basketball team. Lets just hope that this doesn't become what NIU football became after being bad for a long time as well. Cheers to NIU!
Over a 1000 for most games! Come on!! Lol my HS plays in one of the smallest gyms in the city and still gets 1500-2000 every night. If Toledo was winning like NIU this season, we'd have NIU's attendance plus what we already have.
