2. Knowing what we know now about Bowden is there one person on this board that given the chance to go back in time to 1996 that wouldn't hire Bowden with the knowledge of a 12-0 season in 1998? I would still hire him again. Now doesnt knowing that info make us Tulane fans just as bad as every other college program (SEC schools) who sacrifice integrity for wins? Sometimes I get the feeling some Tulane fans turn their noses down at other fans b/c we think we're better than everyone else. Personally I think alot of the same people who trump the academic card when attacked about our W-L record would certainly turn a blind eye to some things if it led to more wins.


I don't know how any reasonable fan could consider such a thought. Not only no, but HELL NO I would not hire Tommy Bowden under those circumstances. There would be too many positive choices out there to choose from. Resorting to the same errors of the past would only bring us tot he same dangerous junction we faced two years ago with the menacing "review," and continue to struggle through today.

I would also like to address the issue of objectivity. Usually when a poster tell us that they are being objective, they are actually attempting to silence our objection to their person biases. When a person is actually being objective, they need not announce it. It is self-evident.

I think people who use "objective" and "realistic" should shampoo my crotch. Objective is used to further their own agenda when they're being anything but, and realistic is arbitrary...at best.
