*season high rating for an AAC game per time slot/platform

Navy AVG. 1.85M
only two games were Neilson rated (Houston and Memphis)

Houston AVG. 967K with eight games including two ABC (Navy/Champ game)
On average, Memphis got better ratings than Houston during the regular season even including the Navy ABC game.

Temple AVG. 717K for seven games on rated channels.

The next nearest G5 team was Toledo with 3 midweek games at 648K AVG.

Obviously, platforms, dates and times affect viewership. The numbers are an average across all ESPN family rated channels (ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPNEWS) and time slots. The number of available rated games also skews the averages. So, it's not completely apples to apples, but it's as far as I'm going with it.
Good information.

Would like to see average numbers as a percentage of TV households in metro area.

^ So would I, but that's not published anywhere I'm aware of. I'm kind of surprised no local media type has requested the info. It'd be a good story.

The ratings come from sports media watch if anyone wants to dig deeper. UCONN didn't do so well this year. Their 6 conference games on rated channels averaged 200K viewers. All were ESPNU or NEWS games which aren't in as many homes as ESPN or ESPN2.

As BYU isn't in a conference, I didn't look at them. I was only interested in G5 conference games to see where Memphis placed and comparable ratings between leagues. I found it interesting that the AAC dominated the top 5 so I included it. Mainly, I was looking at how the AAC fared compared to similar conferences as ESPN cutbacks and possible CUSA devaluation are current message board topics.
FYI, here are the average viewership numbers across all ESPN platforms for 2015 AAC conference games:

Navy 1,854,000.00 (2 games)
Houston 966,750.00 (8 games)
Memphis 767,142.86 (7 games)
Temple 717,428.57 (7 games)
USF 437,500.00 (4 games)
Cincinnati 393,200.00 (5 games)
ECU 336,800.00 (5 games)
Tulsa 269,333.33 (6 games)
SMU 257,714.29 (7 games)
UCONN 200,166.67 (6 games)
Tulane 113,500.00 (6 games)

The AAC's other tv partner, CBSSports is not a Nielsen rated channel and has a separate contract with Navy. Navy's rights will obviously be a boon for the AAC come renegotiation time.

ETA: These numbers include the champ game on ABC. Comparing regular season viewership, Houston drops below Memphis and Temple below USF.

Local media is too busy with solid journalism like working for radio stations, hosting talk shows, and creeping through coaches' emails.
Ran across this a while back.

Quote:Memphis’ win against Mississippi attracted a 22.6 rating and a 39 share in the Memphis DMA, while the Tigers have also earned local ratings of 12.0 or better for their conference games against Cincinnati and Tulsa on ESPN.

Awesome news

Average attendance at American Athletic Conference home games has increased by 10 percent from the same point in the 2014 season, while the conference has seen a 36-percent increase in the number of games that attracted at least one million television viewers.

Memphis’ win against Mississippi attracted a 22.6 rating and a 39 share in the Memphis DMA, while the Tigers have also earned local ratings of 12.0 or better for their conference games against Cincinnati and Tulsa on ESPN.

The Tigers had 55,212 in attendance – a school-record for a conference game – for the Nov. 7 game against Navy.
