Let's do this!
Good preview...my only question would be when it comes to the "home streak"
I believe you're counting the games at Bartow (which makes sense). As far as the NCAA is involved, do they count last years conference games as home games?

However the NCAA recognizes the streak is the way it will be remembered a decade from now.
I only ask bc some people are counting those games and some aren't. I think it would help if we could all be consistent as we talk about the "home" streak
The NCAA counts those games. So in their eyes, the home win streak is already broken.

That's what I was thinking

Great question. Like you said, the NCAA and Warren Nolan have us at 22 games http://warrennolan.com/basketball/2016/stats. I suppose I'm being a bit personal wanting to only count games in Bartow. I've heard both numbers referenced from reputable sources so I suppose there is two ways to look at it. BUT! Officially, according to the NCAA, we are on a 22 home game win streak.
There is no question that the games at BJCC were home games. It was our home for many years.

We have a home winning streak and a Bartow Arena streak.

We also have a road winning streak that is as long as it has been in some time.

Correct. Not sure what it is but I know the most ever in a season is 9 which we did in that 09-10 season. I'll find out what the road streak is.
Media Guide says 5 in a row is longest ever on the road during 81-82 season.

That sounds right. Up for grabs next week. Also, Gonzaga's road streak is amazing at 13 and I don't care how mediocre their conference is.

So a win over WKU next week would break that streak.

Tie it, I think. We are at 4 right now.
@ Illinois St.
@ South Florida
@ ODU
@ Charlotte.

Win @ WKU and we break it @ Marshall.

edit: I can see where some might think it will be broken at WKU. But I think you have to count the Niceville games as road games since we were not playing at home. They were not true road games, but on the road nonetheless.

I was wondering that. Wasn't sure if the neutral site games counted in that streak.

If not, we'd be at 5.
I take the most conservative approach when it comes to streaks and records. If you don't, the next thing you know, you are claiming 20+ national championships.
The streak isn't known outside of the hardcore fans because we don't have a marketing department to share the news with the public. 01-lauramac2

We're getting it out there now. It's received over 200 hits in 3 hours on the "Save UAB Football" page. I think with the tailgate and free food for the students we'll have our biggest crowd this year.

It is currently at 5, you forgot @ Troy
Quote:Best Start in Conference Play (Wins against Rice and North Texas breaks it)

Current — 5 Wins
Record — 6 Wins (CUSA)
When — 09-10

That is the best start in Conference USA play.

The best start in Conference play is from during the Sun Belt era:

• 7 Wins (1984-85 - SBC)
• 6 Wins (1989-90 - SBC)
• 6 Wins (2009-10 - CUSA)
Lets just take em 1 game at a time, folks, which is how I hope the team is mentally handling things.

That's not correct.

84-85 they started 5-1 http://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/scho...edule.html

89-90 they started 6-0 which I missed because they played Xavier in between the 3rd and 5th games.

Not trying to be snarky either. I'm glad it's being double checked. We have an extremely knowledgeable fan base.
