That was a fantastic win at ODU last night. Moving on, Charlotte is up next.

Charlotte is 4-12, 1-3. However, according to KenPom.com, Charlotte has the second highest SOS in C-USA at this time, at 129. Leading the way in SOS is FAU with a 44, while Marshall is third at 135.

In SOS for conference games only, Charlotte is #1, having already played ODU, USM, LaTech, and MT.

They lost at ODU by 9, won at USM by 6, lost at LaTech in OT by 3, and lost at home last night to MT by 1. Charlotte is much better than their record indicates. But, they have lost five home games so far.

KenPom.com has Charlotte rated at 234 and UAB 105. The prediction is UAB wins 78-74. Probability of winning is 66%. KenPom.com had UAB losing last night by 3 points.
This game scares the heck out of me. I hope we get the W. Riding a 12 game win streak into next weekend would be awesome.
UAB's overall SOS is rated 333 by Pomeroy. Conference SOS is 11th out of 14.

In other words, regarding our overall SOS, only 18 teams have a worse SOS.
At this point, I think it's safe to compare their play against common conference opponents. It will be a tight game wire-to-wire from the looks of it, but we should win this one... should being the prominent term.
After upsetting (?) Old Dominion, this one has "trap game" written all over it.

Beware, Blazers, beware.
Charlotte had five players in double figures last night. Here is some info on three of them.

Braxton Ogbueze (6-1, 181, Jr.) is 45-106 (43%) from downtown. He hit four 3-pointers last night against MT.

Andrien White (6-3, 184, Fr.) is 33-84 (39%) from downtown. He had three 3-pointers last night.

It looks like they play a lot of small ball surrounding their center (6-10, 261, Sr.), Joseph Uchebo. He had 11 points and 18 rebounds last night.
Uchebo is a beast. 18 rebounds last night and he had, I think 20 rebounds in a previous conference game. Lee, Cokley and Mehinti are going to have to send back to Birmingham for their rebounding game and have it overnighted to Charlotte. Because it wasn't there last night.

The immovable object or a skilled big man has been a difficult task for this team.
BTW, in that MT 1-pt win at Charlotte last night, Giddy Potts went off for 29 points. He had an offensive rating of 200. He was 7-8 from downtown. Potts didn't play when UAB beat MT.
Better play better than we did last night
