I do not have the average attendance for our 1987 California bowl season, but I do know a couple of games had over 20,000 in attendance.

So how many consecutive winning football seasons would it take to average just 15k per game?

Do you think:
A) 2 Seasons
B) 4 Seasons
C) 6 Seasons
D) More than 6
E) Can not be done
Dear Luckeyone,
Just one winning season.
Probably C.

In 1995, Rynearson averaged upwards of 22,000. I think there's a table of the top 5 seasons in attendance in the football media guide, if you want more info.
2 seasons
Honestly, I'm not sure that it's possible. If it is then I'd go with 6 years. A lot has changed in the sports world in the last several years, e.g. Every game on tv, media only focuses on Big 10, etc. media helps generate a buzz which helps generate fan interest. No media, no buzz, no interest. The Ypsi Press and even the original A2 News did a solid job of covering EMU back in the good old days.
Mr. Hypothetical. Give me ONE winning season first and we can have this discussion...it has been 20 years. Next question.

I don't want to sound, whateverish, but how about 3 seasons?

Why 3?

Attendance very likely wouldn't build too much the first year. Most of the games would be played before the 'band wagon effect' started and by then the weather would hold crowds down...

The 2nd year expectations would be higher and crowds would increase if the record is bowl eligible level.

By the 3rd year energy would be high. It could almost be like water in the desert... The promised land. "Never thought we could do it... We did..." Students and alums would be psyched at what is happening...
