Saw this on our board earlier. He's the pick from the selection commitee. Not officially hired get.

Good news, I've heard of him.

Losing to FCS a couple times. Problems holding onto the locker room. Getting worse after your own recruits take over.

I dunno.
RHODES 32-55 at Iowa State reminds me of McCarney 56-85 at Iowa State.Did not end well for UNT.

Ya never know though--it could work out.Maybe.

I dunno.

I fully expect it to go poorly.

On a year where Dennis Franchione, Larry Coker, and Dan McCarney all get fired what does Texas State appear to be doing? Hiring another coach that was fired at a P5.

I really hope you guys get a hire that works out. Your fan base deserves it.
He interviewed today. Don't get ahead of it. No announcement expected before Monday.
I only ask that one of two things happen 1. We hire a coach who takes us to bowl games and conference championships. 2. We hire a coach who is so bad that Larry is forcibly thrown from his office the Monday after we finish an 0-12 season. 03-cloud9

Since 1920, ISU has has had one coach with a winning record and that was Earl Bruce. That's 24 coaches with losing records if you're scoring at home.
My point stands.

Hiring a coach who has only won 37% of his games is questionable(a much lower % in conference).

If you'll remember, the UNT's were convinced McCarney was a wonderful hire. He had one good year in CUSA using someone else's players and then fell apart.

I guess if you want good news out of this, no Texas State fans are going to be stupid enough to consider Paul Rhodes a program savior.

Head and shoulders above Freeze and Hudspeth who were hired the same year, they told us.
This thread is no moot so I'm going to close it down.
