It has been reported/seen on twitter that UTEP will be hiring former Washington OC Brent Pease. It was also on twitter that UTEP has hired form Angelo State Theron Aych. Aych was the assistant head coach/OC and named a finalist American Football Coaches Association assistant coach of the year. There have also been rumors that coach Kuglar has been talking to Tom Mason who was at SMU with June Jones. I think all of them are upgrades from what we have had. Coach Kuglar has scheduled a press conference to introduce the new staff on Jan. 14

Pease has been the OC at Montana, NAU, Kentucky, Baylor, Boise St and Florida. The Florida gig did not go so well and he was canned after the 2013 season. He then went to Washington as the WR coach. Most of his work as an OC has been successful so I have expectations that if he is our new OC, he will do a better job than the one we just let go.
UTEP fans need to unite against Tom Mason. Just look at what he and June did to SMU

Yeah, looking at his coaching career, I don't see how he remained the DC for so long at SMU. He was at Hawaii as the DC this past season and their defense was bad and he was fired before the season was over. He had some success as a DC earlier in his career at Boise St but that's ancient history. I'd rather have kept Stoker as the DC.
Don't get me wrong I really like Tom he was one of the only people to volunteer to be the head coach wants June bailed on our team after the second game of the season
UTEP needs to go find a young gun that will spend all his time recruiting
It seemed to me that Stoker was finally doing good things with the Defense and then he gets fired for someone that I believe will be worst. Sometimes people just don't have any common sense. I'm talking about you Koogs.
As for the OC it's about time.
