Ooohhhhh
Found his highlights on HUDL. Sorry if it's already been posted somewhere else.

He looks like he has a good motor and knows when to get down to avoid the heavy hits.
Kind of an odd offense; is that a center or a long snapper? Got some talent; seems like good accuracy on the passes shown. Seems to make good decisions on when to take off. He's going to have to adjust to playing within a pocket that is closer to the line of scrimmage, which will mean more maneuvering through the pocket.

Excited he is able to get a head start on the process; I wish we had more guys in this class that were able to do it. Although, most will redshirt.

Awesome to read:

“No quarterback wants to go in and sit,” he said. “I want to go in there and have the mindset of helping the team and compete from there. It’s not about a quarterback competition. It’s about how you can get your team to beat this team and hopefully win a championship.

“You’ve got to look at the whole picture, really, and that’s what I looked at. There are so many opportunities about playing at Old Dominion rather than the [fact] that he’s starting right now.”

A true dual threat QB...in high school. I think he is likely too small to be used as a true DT at the FBS level.
See Vad Lee and David Washington.
He could, however, run the read option in a controlled way; short yardage, goal line, etc.

He seems to be an accurate passer, he can throw on the run and is very very quick.
Scrambling and limited vertical running (and hopefully sliding) on broken plays would add dimensions.
04-cheers

I wouldn't label him a dual threat he was only 74 carries for 97 yards and 0 TDs his senior year. He is very mobile behind the line of scrimmage and can move around well.
While I'm excited for this addition I would love ODU to start bringing in some tall QBs. I know DeMarco was 5'11 and Heinicke was 6'1, but I would love to see some 6'3/6'4/6'5 guys. I know size doesnt always translate to being a better football player but I would still like to see it

At our level you more often than not have to choose between a 6'4" guy who is very raw or a 6'1" guy who is more polished. I am ok with getting smaller qbs that are able to move in our offense until we hit the lottery with that overlooked 6'4" guy that was somehow overlooked by everyone else. Let's face it. If you are 6'4" and good, you kind of have your pick of P5 programs to play for. Its like 6'11" guys in basketball. If we get one, he likely isn't that good unless we get lucky or find one under a rock.
I don't care how tall he is, I'm just glad Ron Whitcomb got his man the quarterback he wanted.
