Who said having a B12 tie was a bad idea? #LibertyBowl # Memphis #KSU

I said it was a slap in UofM's face to replace our conference with another and it was. I did NOT say that there were no compensating benefits. I miss attending the Liberty Bowl (as I had done during all the recent years that it was affiliated with our conference) but unless Memphis is invited to the Big 12 I will not be back.

Here's an idea: tell Nike to make some effort to abide by our brand standard (except for stupid recent inclusion of sky blue as an alternate color). Their blue is too light and the gray is too dark.

Other things are more important. Such as, increasing the size of the band. Getting the Basketball and football practice facilities built. Finding ways to increase the season ticket base. Building the University's endowment. Starting an athletic department endowment.

Upstart schools like Oregon, Oklahoma State and others are attracting athletes with new colors and uniform combinations.

You are free to your own opinion, but mine opinion on this is that the Big XII - SEC matchup is good for the Liberty Bowl and by extension the City. I also believe what is good for the city is good for the university. K-State versus Navy or Temple would not have resulted in a sellout and would not have impressed Big XII reps.

40,000 plus Razorback fans yesterday. Having and SEC tie in is very important for the financial health of the Liberty Bowl.
Get off your high horse Hog fans, you beat a mediocre K State team without their best defensive players. It's not like you beat Toledo or something.

That's such a weak response.

The SEC puts on a heckuva show

It's the most important issue facing our school. For example, the black in my hoodie is all wrong.

I never said it was anywhere near the most important issue. What I HAVE consistently said is:

(1) it isn't UNimportant and,

(2) it is an issue which can be corrected at no cost and,

(3) UofM is in no position to ignore possibilities for improvement

Yep. I think Texas is holding the conference hostage just like Cuse and Pitt did with the Big East

I don't think Texas is holding anyone hostage. What other conference is going to allow them to have their own network? The answer is none! Texas has convinced everyone they have the big stick, but in reality it's nothing more than a chopstick. They may have a say in how much a new conference member can receive as a share of conference revenues as the other nine schools will have, but they are stuck with the Big 12 no matter what happens. They have done this to themselves because of their overblown perception of self importance. No other conference can offer them the money the Big 12 is currently offering them and quite frankly it's rubbing other conference members the wrong way. I wouldn't be surprised to see one or two of the current members leave as a result of Texas' arrogance.

It seems like TX had much more leverage before TAMU and Nebraska left. That being said, not sure who else would leave other than OU.
I could see OU partner with OSU or KU to go to the sec or big 10 maybe. Nothing else seems overly realistic without Texas. AM won't allow TX to the sec.

I think if Texas wants the SEC, TAMU will not be able to keep them out. That said, the B10 or P12 is more likely for them. OU is more likely for the SEC. Really have a harder time figuring out OSU or KU.
