Great product! Maybe even better than last year. Best thing to happen to this league was to separate from the football schools. That being said, FS1 sux because you have to pay additional monies as part of a sports tier package to watch their conference games. Fox Sports needs to make this channel more accessible to tv viewers.

Don't understand your logic about the break-up of the BE being the best thing. It was the absolute worst thing that could happen. I've been to the BET in recent years. It's just not the same thing. A shell of what it once was.
it may have been a shell the first year- but year 2 was better- and now- 4 top 15 teams... Nova and PC look real good. And X only lost to Nova. Where first year it was just a lot of parity, now, you have 4 real top notch teams.
i dont think he's referring to the original breakup but rather the decision of the C7 to split when they did
If the Big East plays on FS1 and no one watches, does it make a sound?
well even though FS1 isn't great by any stretch, the committee did watch last year, when the Big East got 6. And the top teams are better this year- right now would get 3 top 3 seeds most likely.

Big East Basketball needs more than just the committee to be watching. No one is denying the power of the conference, it's great basketball. But the league needs more viewership, eyes on the tv sets. You can't deny that. Otherwise, the league isn't going to get paid on their next TV contract. I love basketball, I hate I can't watch BE Basketball without having to pay a little extra out of my pocket. That ain't gonna happen.

FS1 is available in the prime Big East markets - NYC, Philly, Chicago, DC, Cincy, Indy, Milwaukee, etc. I'm surprised you don't get it in Alabama since it used to be the Speed Channel and had strong coverage in the south.
Which markets don't carry FS1 on the basic tier? I thought it was on virtually everywhere.

We get it, you just have to pay for it as part of a sports tier package. It may also depend on the carrier. I'm with Brighthouse and FS1 is part of a sports tier package.
there really should be more promotion going on on Fox network for FS1. take advantage of the fact there are 4 top 20 teams in BE. Hammer that point home and then promote the PAC12 with their ranked teams
well the 2 ton gorilla in the room is that the Big East needs to perform in the NCAA tourney. That would help the Big East and FS1 more than anything Fox could do promotion wise for the Big East.
My cable company has ESPN and ESPN2 slotted near CNN ,TBS,BET,MTV,USA amd close to network TV.

The three Fox sports channels are further up and grouped with less popular networks.

Convincing cable companies to bunch all the sports channels together would be huge for Fox. I don't even know if that is possible but it would help.
I found myself watching a little Xavier - Long Beach State action a year ago on FS1. Good stuff.
The conference has had a really strong start this year (and the past three seasons) no doubt. However, at some point the league needs to get some deep runs from its teams. This year, any one of Xavier, Butler, Providence and Villanova can be that team. If Seton Hall/Georgetown can get keys wins in conference as well, we could have six teams in the tournament - which would be phenomenal.

That is a two pound monkey. How the BE does in the tourney has no impact on FS1 ratings.

bull****. If say X makes the final 4, you better believe they would be a lot more respected next year. That exposure for X would be priceless.

Agree with you on X, PC, and Nova. Not quite as sold on Butler. They aren't Butler like in past years with the tough defense.

I don't have anything against the new big east, I think they have a good thing going with their new small group now. Good for them.

IDK maybe is just me but what attracted me to watch the Big East before was a combination of football n a little basketball at times. Today's new Big East doesn't have that same juicy flavor anymore and probably why the eyeball interest has dropped significantly.
