as for the P5

UNC, not Florida St was the ACC CCG loser, and they lost to Baylor I believe

Florida lost to Mich

And of course Iowa lost to Stanford
All this hand ringing over Bowl Game results...Newsflash...outside of the CFP these are E-X-H-I-B-I-T-I-O-N-S...yes once the game start teams want to win but JMO it is not a reflection on which team or conference is best.
And you could make a case that Oklahoma St was in the title game with the Big 12 and they are getting demolished in the Sugar Bowl.
Hey Navy won their game

There's a reason none of the bowls want them. The players and fans don't really want to be there.
this is why you are never going to have it where teams that lose in the playoffs will ever then go to bowls after they've lost in the playoff..
Only Big 12 and Sun Belt did not have a CCG, but if they did? Houston might have been the Big 12 champs, and Appalachian State at #2 in Sun Belt won their's.

AAC Champ won.
ACC Champ going into finals.
Big 10 Champ lost
Big 12 Champ lost
C-USA champ won
MAC champ lost
MWC champ won
PAC 12 champ won
SEC champ going into finals
Sun Belt champ lost.

Should bowls be the entire story? Of course not, we have to look at regular season results as well, the totality of the season.

But, for "exhibition" games, the players seem to celebrate pretty big when they win a bowl and suffer a lot when they lose. I saw one of those directional schools celebrate their Cure Bowl win like it was the NFC Championship Game.

Fact is, since the BCS era began, the bowls have evolved into tests of conference strength, and teams know it.

San Jose State beat Georgia State in the Cure Bowl. I wonder when they changed the school's name?
