Outback: #23 Tennessee is crushing #13 Northwestern 31-6 in the fourth. This is a big surprise. Tennessee has had a good comeback season but NW has been a ranked team most of the year. SEC East power.

Citrus: #19 Florida trails #14 Michigan 17-7, thanks to Red Zone turnovers by the Gators.

This matchup was a Big break for the B1G, as Florida didn't merit this high-profile slot. They can't score on themselves. Should have had to play LSU, but the Citrus wanted the home-town Gators. Should be an easy B1G win.

Fiesta: #7 Ohio State is killing #8 Notre Dame 28-14 at the half. Another huge break for the B1G, as Ohio State faces a Notre Dame team decimated by injuries and suspensions. Too bad, because a fully-armed ND could play with anyone this year.

So overall, the B1G is going to win two of these games, but mainly because of very favorable matchups. Should have won all three but Tennessee rose up somehow.

Uh...Florida won the SEC East and played for the SEC Title...this is the traditional slot for SEC Schools like this and not in a NYD Six Bowl...last year SEC East Champ Missouri played in this very same game...LSU was 3rd in the West-(really 4th since they lost Head to Head to Arkansas)...also Michigan is the #4 B1G school...07-coffee3

How do you figure? Maybe the Belk Bowl and the Cotton but one could make a convincing argument that the rest of the SEC bowls this year were unfavorable matchups.
That's what SEC does. They make sure their teams are matched up in the best possible way for them to win. It's actually part of their bowl agreements. If it's not a favorable matchup for them, the SEC vetoes it. That helps keeps the fallacy that the worst SEC team is somehow better than the top teams from other conferences alive. The media is a willing accomplice to the charade.

SEC East sucks....

I believe the CFP protected Bama by placing them against MSU in the 1st game instead of Clemson. Your Tigers are going to put an end to this SEC superiority BS

Clemson Offensive style will give Alabama fits...Watson is the best College QB in the Nation and much more mobile then Cook.

Florida won the SEC East because it was very soft. LSU should have gotten this Citrus spot and would have beaten Michigan. Heck, LSU beat Florida during the season.

If Florida hadn't lost their starting QB, they would have been a formidable team, but without him, they can't score, no offense whatsoever. Sitting ducks, just look at the SEC title game and FSU game.

SEC shouldn't have let the Citrus have their way and pick nearby Florida. That guaranteed a B1G win. Florida should have played NC State in the Belk Bowl so LSU could have run over Michigan.
I'm surprised Tennessee is doing what it is. But, I'll take it. Beating a higher ranked opponent looks good.

The SEC is having a great year all around. It's the best conference in the land this year.

Was thinking same thing watching this game. I know when we traveled to South Bend last season Notre Dame was decimated with injuries. They need to look at their training regiment. Something is not right. Probably too much training

Injuries are freaky but suspensions are at least partly the coaching staff's fault. It's the coach's job to instill good behavior in the players and run a tight ship. Too his credit, Kelly doesn't hesitate to suspend miscreants (which Urban brazenly refuses to do), but he needs to do a better job teaching his recruits how to act the right way.

Sure, some kids are just bad apples and no coach can reach them, but a good coach who is also a leader can minimize problems with poor behavior.

I think Tennessee is handling the higher ranked Big 10 Northwestern rather handily, almost Alabama-esque in their dominance. They are from the East. But I don't expect a poster that changes his preferred alliances and starts numerous threads designed to troll one conference or another to acknowledge the geography of Tennessee.

You must not have looked.

Texas A&M vs Louisville. I would call it an even split but at the start of the season if you were to have said a Texas A&M vs Louisville match up would be an even match up, everyone would have laughed at you.

Miss State vs NC State. Favor to Miss State is obvious.

Auburn vs Memphis. Memphis lost their HC. Favor to Auburn.

LSU vs Texas Tech. Really? Obvious SEC favorite.

Ole Miss vs Oklahoma State. Ole Miss is the higher ranked team and has a win against Alabama. Obvious SEC favorite.

Alabama vs Michigan State. Everyone favored Alabama.

Georgia vs Penn State? Is anyone favoring Penn State? Doubtful.

Arkansas vs Kansas State. Arky has the better record and has looked very good at the end of the year while KSU looks mediocre.

Come on man, it isn't even close.

I think Alabama might have blown all their emotional energy in that MSU game. I think Alabama was more worried about not getting knocked out of the Tournament early by another Big Ten team than they were about winning it all.

Clemson may end up facing a very flat Alabama team. That is a strong Clemson squad, if that happens then they may end up embarrassing Alabama.
