They are 5-7, with two of those wins being against non-D1. However, they do have some decent wins at South Fla and at North Texas and over Southern Miss. They lost to Ole Miss by 3.
They likely will start 6-7, 6-6, 6-3 across the front line. They have four 6-8 players who do not start. They have three scorers in double figures, led by Wesley Person at 18.1 ppg. He is a good one. He shoots 38% from the arc and shoots a lot of them. Jordan Varnado is their inside guy, averaging 17.3 ppg and 8.3 rpg. They do not have much effective depth. Even their 5th starter averages 25.3 minutes per game. Get past their big three and it drops off pretty quickly.
They live (and die) by the 3, in typical Troy fashion. (Coaches may change, but evidently it is in the water down there, because they still do the same thing.) However, they only shoot 32.1% from the arc as a team, so they are not living very well. Once you get past Person and Varnado, they do not have anyone who is much of a shooter. They are minus 1 on the boards and have a positive team A/TO ratio.
Sagarin picks us by 10 points. RealtimeRPI picks us by 7.
