Nice bump. And I'd say Christmas Eve at Noon is a pretty nice time slot. Most people are not working, and family/church/get-together plans don't usually start until later that evening.

Quote:Viewership rose substantially for the second annual Bahamas Bowl.

Thursday’s Western Michigan/Middle Tennessee Bahamas Bowl drew 2.1 million viewers on ESPN, up 43% from last year’s inaugural edition between Central Michigan and Western Kentucky (1.5M). Ratings were not immediately available.

The Broncos’ win ranks third out of the 11 bowl games through Thursday, trailing only the GoDaddy Bowl the previous night (2.4M) and the Las Vegas Bowl on ABC the previous Saturday (3.7M). It was also just the fourth bowl game thus far to post a year-over-year increase, joining the GoDaddy, Las Vegas and Camellia bowls.

The Bahamas Bowl finished comfortably ahead of the other Christmas Eve bowl game, topping the primetime Hawaii Bowl by 31% (1.6M). Keep in mind that game faced NFL competition.

That is the kind of info that our marketing department should use to their advantage.

Dave Drew should take that to Ooter "Dutch" VanSlooter his GR editor, to show him that WMU warrants as much or more coverage than Hope, Calvin, Cornerstone, and Grand Valley.
perhaps the increase has a lot to do with the team, that being WMU. No one cares about cmu. Further, most cmu alumns were likely working during their Bahama's Bowl loss, due to the rush leading up to Christmas.

True, Bass Pro, Cabelas, and Great Wolf Lodge are booming this time of year. My niece, who got a degree in journalism and Meterology from CMU, said the Bigby she works at almost ran out of coffee that day.

My garbage man, environmental science degree from CMU, was working on Christmas Eve, and the day after Christmas...poor guy...busy time of year.
