Problem? Too much inexperience. And the only way to solve that is by playing more games. No other way around it. This might have been a good year for a few more jucos to plug the gap until our young folks have a chance to grow and mature. Just look at what Coach Beard did.
He found some players to bring in who had already been through the wars. Jucos like Marcus Johnson, Lis Soshi and Jalen Jackson. Seniors or graduate students like Jermaine Rutley. I'm probably missing some, but you get the point.
Maybe Coach Foley just couldn't find what he needed in the way of experienced players, so he did what he could do. There is some talent in this Freshman class, but they're having to play too many minutes for the team to be successful early on. This will pay off down the line. This year? I'm not certain. But probably in the future. You don't question a coach who has won over 700 games in his career, IMO.
