Honestly, there isn't a lot of positive things to say about this USF squad. We are statistically superior in every main category other than RPG (USF 41 UAB 38) and total blocks (USF 68 UAB 65).

UAB is better in the following categories:

Points Per Game: 73 / 65
Field Goal Percentage: 46.2 / 41
3 Point Percentage: 33.7 / 25.7
Total Turnovers: 128 / 165
Assists Per Game: 18 / 10

USF's "best player" is their 6'0 freshman guard, Jahmal McMurray. He is averaging 13.2 points per game and playing nearly 33 minutes. His 3 point percentage is 31% which is the team's best. Statistically they are the worst 3 point shooting team we've faced this year. Combine that with their points per game and it's easy to see why they are 3-8.

The other player on their team worth noting is Jaleel Cousins. He is the brother of the Kentucky Wildcat and Sacramento Kings Demarcus Cousins. Fortunately, he is no where near as talented as his brother. He's 6'11 and plays like a true center. He's a decent shot blocker and rebounder but not much of an offensive threat. Tosin is plenty good enough to keep him contained to his averages or worse.

They were able to squeak past us in OT last year in Bartow. One of the best players from that team was Anthony Collins who put up 16 points against us last year. He is now starting for a really good Texas A&M team. It's also worth noting William Lee did not play in this game and Tyler Madison had 17 points.

We are going to have to seriously poop the bed to drop this one. I'm predicting a 10+ point win and another block party for the Blazers.

ASN will be covering the game and you can watch locally on WTTO "The CW" or via ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app.
We were what, 3-8 on the road last year? Chance to match that win total in only 4th road game so far this season.

I went back to 2000 and can confirm we have never won 3 true road games OOC during that time.
I haven't check my records, but I don't remember when the last time we shot 50% or better for three straight games either.
This is a team we should handle, but you never know on the road.

This!
If we can get past this one (any road game makes me nervous), we are set up for a very nice winning streak.
If we want to be a big time program this is where you take care of business. Road or no road.
I agree. The team hasn't definitively proven that yet, so I'm still pretty nervous about this game.
Historically, UAB has never played very well in Tampa against South Florida no matter how good the Bulls were. Lots of close calls down there. Sidney Ball hit a buzzer beater that to give us a win in 2004. A loss would have killed our at large chances.

I remember very few games at South Florida where after the game, you thought UAB played well.

Remember Myron Ransom going ballistic and having to be physically restrained from murdering a few South Florida players (and UAB coaches as well).
USF can't score. Wouldn't be surprised if we were a 10 point favorite on the road.
Road games always make me nervous. Hopefully we will continue our winning streak and play like we did last night.
This is kind of the scenario I hate as we've not proven ourselves to overcome them of late. We just had a big/fun win then face a team we should on paper beat but then we play down & allow them to stay close & lose at the end. This is a game we must come out fast & hard & full throttle & not play down to our opponent. It looks like we're having a couple of other players step up on the offensive end other than Cokely so that bodes well & some good plays on the defensive side to match
In Tampa and preparing for a victory.
UAB is a 7.5 point favorite.

We're 2-6 ATS when playing South Florida in the past 8 games.

Wow

That's actually incorrect. 2009-10, we won at Jacksonville State, at South Alabama, and at Arkansas. Also, with the exception of Mike Davis, who was adverse to playing tournaments, we rarely played that many true road games out of conference.

2008-09, we won at Troy, at Arizona, at Old Dominion
