FIRE RAY WATTS!
Just unbelievable.
Now people remember we're suppose to be more open minded and supportive of Dr. Ray L Watts so we can get our team back and new shiny facilities. He's turned a new leaf and all those transgressions of the past are gone. The Preacher said it absolved him. It's forever faithful, forever loyal from here on out. The BOT says all his sins is warshed away, including that football team he killed. C'mon in boys, the water is fine.

This needs to be in the Bar & Grille forum...

As soon as Punkin Head is no longer Blazer-related.
He was at the Seattle game, I actually passed him in the concourse after the game when I was on my way to the men's room. No more security apparently. He's ready to mix with the rabble.
If he's there tonight, there needs to be a FRW chant, especially if anything is said about today's FB signings. I would love to see him squirm. I honestly think he only owns 1 UAB article of clothing. It was 74 degrees the night of the Seattle game and he was still wearing the same jacket he wore in Louisville.
This isn't particularly encouraging towards the rumors that he would be leaving at the end of the year
I figure that the powers that be mentioned to Watts that if he wants to stick around that he must not run around as much with guards surrounding him.

I don't know about that (it's possible), but I do know that the faculty senate was giving him the business about how much that extra security was costing at the same time that there have been multiple publicized criminal incidents on campus. It was becoming incredibly hard to cut budgets and not increase police patrols when he had 2-3 officers on him all the time.
That would be possible as well.

Hard to even begin to take him seriously when he has guards surrounding him.

I see "strategic planning" mentioned. Wonder what he's going to shut down next?

He's actually been at most home games this year. The amount of fans that have been showing up to games, he might not even be able to hear the FRW chants...

I think the crowds have been decent, given the quality of the opponents (by quality, I mean "known names", not actually quality play). I have been to every home game + @AU + Destin. The students have also been impressive other than Sunday evening, but they are out of school now, so they have an excuse.
In his first full day as Chairman of the BBA, he's front-and-center at the ribbon cutting for the new IMS (Integrated Medical Systems) facility downtown:

I have a feeling we're going to be seeing President Watts in the news A LOT over the next year. This is something good for UAB & B'ham... this is the stuff he should be doing, not cutting programs at UAB.
If he's going to be hanging around, he might as well get to work helping spinoff life science companies from UAB to satisfy his roles as UAB president and BBA Chairman.
