See you in Boca Raton!
I would love to go, but not for just a 2-day stay. Don't think I can go down on Friday night or Saturday either, but possible. Would have to get some golf in if I went. I drove from 30 miles north of Detroit to Sarasota in 18 hours in October (excluding a 3 hour nap just north of Atlanta on a Friday night). Looking at all possibilities.
Toledo to Boca: I-75 S to Fl Turnpike S to Boca Raton/Glades RD Exit(can switch from Fl Turnpike to I-95@Ft Pierce Fl and save some Toll money).
Also have driven Toledo-Ohio Turnpike to Cleveland area I-77 South to S Columbia SC to I-26 to I-95 South to Boca Raton/ Glades RD Exit. Saved some time and gas and toll money. Not as well traveled with fewer food and fuel stop alternatives.

The 95 S to Fl Turnpike Route:1283 miles each way=18 hrs 20 minutes driving(70 mph)+4 hrs rest=22.33 hrs
$2.19/gal gas 24 mpg 53.5 gal=$117.16 fuel+Turnpike Tolls

If people are willing to pay $400 a night for a room, there'll be people doing the charter like dropping quarters. I figure it's a hob-nob package more then a "get-there" package.

Once again they've out-done themselves on the catering. Dang!

The rooms where the package is runs $249

My sister-in-law works for the food vendor at FAU. She is in charge of the menu for the fan fest tent. She called me yesterday to tell me that I absolutely must stop by the tent as the food will be awesome. Seeing it listed here, she wasn't kidding!

And all the away games, the food has that local specialty flare. They should do the same at the Glass Bowl pavilion. They could have, maybe hotdogs, beer and pop? That's about as Toledo as it gets.

In seriousness it is, isn't it? We're pathetic.
We're addicted to national chains and cheap margaritas. We could open up a Mancy's stand at the Glass Bowl, apply the same markup that is given to a slice of Gino's Pizza there, and they'd be asking $540 for a 5 ounce steak.

Got my tickets today! I'll be on the Hyundai Party Deck most of the game. Btw, it's about $9 for a Coors/Bud Light. Plan accordingly.

Hyundai Party Deck 16,000 sq ft outdoor lounge, great view of the field, flat screen TV's, lounge seating(including sofas)
types of concessions:
Mississippi Sweets BBQ
Chick-fli-A
Hagen Daz
Subway(including pizza)
Nathan's Hot Dogs
Dippin' Dots
Candy Cottage
Pizza, Burgers, and Chicken Tenders
Domestic and Import Beers

Just hang around with Tampa Rocket. He gets a back pack full of beer into those bowl games and treats the less fortunate to a few of them....

Ha...I'm still amazed that they just let me stroll through the gates with a backpack on (full of beer)...didn't bother to check it at all. I must have looked harmless. 04-cheers
