Navy is hand painting their helmets for their players. 7 different helmets to represent the fleet. CBS Sports has the best write-up on it. All around pretty sweet IMHO (don't tell my Army friends).

Linebackers: Cruiser.

Hardest hitting ship in the fleet.

Defense Backs: Destroyer.

Fast. Light. Agile. And loaded with missile defense systems.

Wide Receiver: Submarine.

In Navy's offense, they block, they block, they block. They often go unnoticed, but if they are needed... they strike.

Linemen: Amphibious assault ship.

Used to punch through the opposition and establish a beachhead.

QB: Aircraft carrier.

Obvious.

Running Backs: Littoral Combat Ship.

Fast. Agile. Able to go anywhere and strike.

Special Teams: Minesweeper.

Don't get caught off guard by special teams!

Also new gloves:

Because they are awesome.
I like em, especially the gloves!
This is how you do special uniforms.

The Navy didn't show up from 1775-1783.

Seriously? John Paul Jones? JPJ took the fight to the enemy: Bonhomme Richard vs Serapis took place off the English coast. Yorktown wouldn't have happened without maritime superiority (granted, that was courtesy of our French allies, but even today, we want everyone to be stakeholders in protecting the global commons).

It's ok, he's an army guy. He has a bad case of Marines envy...because they definitely don't call the army if the President is in need.

Hey, I love JPJ. But overall, the Navy was pitiful and outclassed during the Revolutionary War. One example doesn't change the fact that the British could sail anywhere and land troops at leisure.
Googled Marine animal...
