I'm still recovering from DeSean Jackson's and the rest of the Redskins debacle last night.... Hopefully talking some ODU hoops will cure it.

Georgia State. Old Conference foe. We beat them last year at home and they had a nice little story going in the NCAA tournament, but they are a new team this year.

This will be a tough test on the road and I hope our Monarchs can pull off a nice win for our first away-from-home victory of the year. Go Monarchs!
Stith is back. I have a good feeling about this one. I think we win a close game.
Need to show that we can win on the road. This would be a good start.

I'm still enjoying DeSean Jackson's and the rest of the Redskins debacle last night.... Hopefully some ODU hoops keeps this feeling of euphoria going strong!

lol -- This has got to be the strangest season the NFL East has ever experienced. Three teams with losing records tied for first, and the Cowboys only one game back with a 4-8 record. I've been watching the Cowboys for 55 years, and I have never seen a season like this one.

Now -- the rest of your post is absolute gospel. A Monarchs win over fGSU will be just what the hoops doctor ordered.

Don't be so sure about Stith's return. You haven't seen anything saying he's good to go. Just saying we don't know.

think this is week four of his injury so I guess that's why theres optimism. even if he's cleared, he may be on a minutes limit.
I think fans may be tested by the time we leave Richmond. Beating them in Richmond has never been an easy task and we aren't exactly road warriors.

I'm going on Stith himself. I flat out asked him on Twitter and he answered. I know he needs to be cleared, but I am just trying to be optimistic.

It really doesn't matter to me that much if we win in Richmond or not. I've given up on the at-large. We could run the table the rest of the way and not get in. At this point my goal is to improve enough to be able to take home the conference tourney and have a good enough record to get a 12 seed.

Saw him shooting around during the pregame warm-ups for the Delaware St. game. Aside from the brace on his knee, I thought he looked pretty good. But as mentioned earlier he's got to be cleared.

This is week 3...next week Wednesday will be 4 week since his injury.

The game is listed on ESPN3/WatchESPN...
Thanks Dad! Never thought it was "big" enough for an ESPN tier!

I think it's part of the Sun Belt's deal with ESPN, where all their football and however much of their basketball gets streamed on ESPN3. Honestly, I hope that no matter what comes of CUSA's TV contract, they find a way to give ESPN streaming rights; they seem to handle the mechanics of streaming better than their competitors, and the hamster in the wheel that powers ASN's IT department doesn't have the power to allow for streaming, I guess.

I am with you on this I am afraid. Spiders will beat us like a drum up there.
Our road woes continue and we will lose a couple of conference games this year we should not lose and obtw our home record if not broken by Rhode Island, than UAB, MTSU, UTEP, UTSA will certainly give us one. I just don't see anything special from this team's play so far. Did Trey get married? Bacote is still as inconsistent as he was last year, he goes invisible way too many times. Outside of those two the rest are all just average players. I hope I am wrong and something special happens but I am afraid all we had last year during the NIT (Not In Tournament teams) was lightning in a bottle.

...and the fact that we were at home.

The best bet for this season is to:

1.) Get Stith back and into game shape, as we sorely need a low post presence.
2.) Gain some confidence and mojo in road games before Conference Play.
3.) Win the CUSA Regular season and secure the NIT Bid.
4.) Take our best shot in Birmingham.

So all the wins leading up to the NIT were what?
JJ just said its unlikely that Brandan plays against Georgia State on Cattles. He added that they're hopeful he'll be ready for the game against Richmond.

On WAVY last night they added that he will wear a knee brace all season.
