Freeman pouring out blood. Sums up this early season for sure. Hope he's alright.
Thats the ball game.

We suck and deserve to lose.

Jeff jones's teams have been awful on the road.

That needs to change.

Everything that went right last year is going wrong this year. Jones needs to start coaching or this year will be a complete loss.
College basketball isn't even watchable.
Good to see Andre 3000 at the game.

Why did we not choose shipes to shoot the FT's??????
If Jones can't motivate his team to show up on the road, we need to rethink that contract. I don't care if he has to hire a sports psychologist out of his own paycheck. This has reached beyond unacceptable.

We played poorly all game, but our freshman PG made some big mistakes at crucial times. The two missed front ends and the blown 2 on 1 break were killers.
Dumpster Fire.
Can win shooting 1 of 12 from behind the arc. GaSt freshman guard looked dam good to me, big and strong.
Bacote and Baker are simply not starter material, and now Mosley is gone, so much for the BT era. Starting next year JJ stands and falls strictly on his own kids. Remember, he's just a little over a .500 life time coach. It's obvious we need size and talent down low and guards who can drive and finish and shoot the 3.
So we lost huh? I gave up interest near the end and decided to build my son's xmas gifts instead. Turns out to be a wise investment of time.

Crap man
This sucks. This season sucks.

The guards were good enough to win 27 games with a mediocre front court last year. JJ needs to figure out how to coach offense. This is the exact same **** i used to make fun of my friends who were UVA fans for back in the day. The more things change the more they stay the same. You can't win games scoring in the 50s. You can't win championships playing the slowest pace in the country. Let the kids play and see what happens. Our talent is not such that we should be scoring as poorly as we are, and don't get me started on the fact that we have suspended 3 players and kicked two of the team in one season. They need to get it together.

This has been true for a couple of years at least. Our guards can not go into the paint and finish. They get blocked or in Bacotes case throw up awful, no chance shots. They do not draw fouls anywhere near as much as the other teams (some fouls, just not nearly as many).
We concentrate on our lack of size down low, but I think our lack of size at guard hurts just as much if not more. Why can't our guys stop other teams guard penetration? When the other team penetrates, they either draw a foul, make the basket or dish. Us, not so much.

Bottom line, we need bigger, faster guards as much as we need bigger post players.
Been a Monarch fan since 1971, it's always next year in regards to the Monarchs! Next year we will have B.J Stith 6'5, Randy Hayes 6'5 and Xavier Green at 6'6 as guards. That may help some. Also the new point guard from OK, can't remember his height but it's reported he already had a D1 body as a junior in HS.

Long year ahead. Injuries, suspensions, dismissals and it seems a wasted scholarship this year. We will be stuck on 3 all time NCAA wins another year.

Agreed. The bigger post players are there, just sitting out this year for redshirts. I read somewhere, probably on here, that Kah would be a major contributor right away. I believe that BJ Stith is about 6'5 and Xavier Green is 6'6, Randy Hayes 6'4, not sure about Evans. Conference USA is seems to be a guard league. Tally has a nice skill set as the "3", seems to have a nice mid range jumper and can take the ball to the basket. This year may be a struggle but the next several years looks good with who we are bringing in. The other teams get in the bonus early because of the other teams guard penetration. We used a little bit of zone yesterday, 3-2 I believe, maybe we need to use that more to cover up the fact that our guards are not fast enough nor physical enough to handle other teams guards.
Let's face it, this team is already a massive disappointment. Outside of winning the CUSA this team won't go to the NCAA tourney and won't go to NIT
