Drove by the stadium this morning. It was still there under gray sky.

Quality suites and Laquinta in deerfield beach are both in nice areas and in the low $70s price range per night.

I believe there is camping at 5 Broward Parks including Deerfield Beach's Quiet Waters.

Quiet waters does not have RV sites.

"At Quiet Waters, a unique Rent-a-Tent package is available. Each site includes a platform with a pre-set-up 10-foot-by-10-foot canvas tent (capacity six), a fire ring, a grill, a picnic table, electricity, and running water. Also available are two tepee sites, each with a grill, a fire ring, and a picnic table. Renters are able to use sports equipment found in the park office free of charge, and can also purchase a discount pass to Splash Adventure water park during the aquatics season. No RV sites are offered at this location."

Its $35 a night

The other 4 other Broward Parks have full RV hook ups. Plus unless Walmart has changed policies you're able to park over night in their lots.

Edit: As of Sunday evening some of the links don't seem to be active, but I imagine they will be soon.

Spirit round trip Detroit to Ft Lauderdale had fares for about $280 tax(27%) included.
Rockets are the home team.

Depends upon days and they get in really late at night. What's the means for getting from FLL to Boca?

Another down side to this bowl "system," pre-Christmas prices I guess. Not much cooperation between Host cities and amenities or they will book up and don't need lower prices? I would think this is technically, "off-season."
Can save a lot of money by flying into Fort Myers instead of FLL/MIA, if you don't mind the 2hr drive on the Alligator Alley.

Northbound TriRail runs from the Ft Lauderdale Airport to the Boca Station starting at 4:51am to 10:54 pm and Southbound Boca to the Airport 4:30am to 11:37 pm Mon-Fri. Trip is about 35-40 minutes. Cost is $6.25 each way. Saturday-Sunday/Holiday Schedules are different. Cost is by Zones travel. You can literally take TriRail/MetroRail from Rivera Beach/WPB to Coral Gables. Passes are available. Personally I have enjoyed taking the train system. Suppose to be getting a high speed rail system that will serve S Fl to Orlando.
Any word on a charter/package offered through the University?

That's what I'm doing. Drive 2 hrs? Or spend another $100-200 on a flight, plus rental car prices would be higher in FLL/MIA? Pretty easy choice.

I once had gator when I was in Florida a few years. Tasted just like chicken.

Try Fox rental. Asked for smallest car they had in Miami last spring. Guy gave me a black Camaro for the same price $13/day.
Its not 110 miles from fort meyers to FAU its 150 miles fort lauderdale is 20 miles south of boca raton. You have to drive south to naples to go across on 75/alligator alley. So you will be spending about $30 on gas easily.
Large group of former Toledoans in the Naples/Ft Myers area.
Pick up a couple hitch-hikers in the swamps; no doubt Rocket fans making their way to Boca.

Just know that spirit charges 40 bucks a bag each way

And $100 for the bag that was fine as a carryon in Detroit, but five minutes before your flight from Lauderdale is suddenly too large. "Not our fault our people in Detroit screwed up-pay or stay here-it's not really our problem". They're bigger snakes than the one east and his friends caught.
