Don't look now, but the lady hoopsters moved to 6-1 on the year after dismantling Wofford 75-55 at Kaplan.
I watched the game on line last night. They do look good. Way more athletic than in the past and depth was good. Wofford was not very good though. It's amazing to me how quickly the new coach turned things around.

It's worth watching them.
Hopefully this trend continues into league play. Clemson this weekend will be a tough test for what seems like a much improved team.
Clemson is actually just 2-6 on the season with narrow wins against Charleston Southern and South Carolina Upstate. I give our ladies a solid chance to take that game.
None of the teams they've beaten so far have even close to a winning record. Looking quickly at their schedule (on realtimeRPI), Grambling St. and American are winless, while Delaware St. and Wofford each only have 1 win. It looks like the first time the team will be tested besides the Richmond loss is at VCU, and then the conference slate.
That being said, I have noticed how much your ladies have improved over the last two seasons, and I'm sure they'll be a force to be reckoned with in the conference, especially since they made the post-season last year.
This day is not a total loss for W&M
The Tribe women beat Clemson today! Congrats to them! Clemson has only won one game but they are still ACC with a larger pool of players they can recruit.
All I can say is "Huge Win".

I don't care if Clemson is poo poo in the ACC. We are on the come.
Held Clemson to TWO points in fourth quarter. Clemson held to just 13 points final 30 minutes of the game.

Great win, ladies!
20 point win last night at home against Norfolk State raises ladies to 7-1, best ever.

Granted Norfolk State is terrible (0-8 now), but our lady hoopsters play with a high level, smothering defense
and an accelerated offense and are fun to watch.

They have a freshman point guard, Bianca Boggs, who is as quick as you'll see and is going to be a memorable player here at W&M.

Team had 17 steals last night. Soph Abby Rendle had 16 points and five blocked shots.
They're actually 8-1 now, which puts them an entire game ahead in the conference. I like when a lot of teams in the conference are good because it makes it more competitive, and makes the conference as a whole better. However, after seeing your team's SOS, I just hope they're not in shock when they reach CAA play. The competition will be several steps up from what they're playing now. Conference play will definitely improve the SOS since teams you haven't played yet aren't factored in, but it can only improve so much when it starts off so bad. I honestly don't think I've ever seem any CAA team in any sport with a worse SOS.

Certainly will be tougher in CAA in particular vs JMU. WM ladies only loss was to UR by 6. JMU beat UR by 26.
It's pretty hard to have an SOS lower than 348 -- although Monday's game with VCU (RPI 75) should bump it up a little.

That said, I hope W&M can solidify its place in the middle of the CAA pack (at least), and hopefully improve on last year's .500 conference mark.
What I'm impressed with most is how fast the new coach has made progress.

Going from horrible to bad to decent to good in three years. Once he gets stable and keeps recruiting kids that fit his program we'll have a chance to win a lot more than we lose. I'd be very happy with 12-14 wins on a regular basis and 20 from time to time.
VCU (10-2) crushed us.

It speaks to the talent we were squandering before. VCU game notwithstanding, this season still looks like another step forward.
A sweep of ODU by The Tribe this year in basketball as our women's team came back in the second half for a, 75-64 W against the lady monarchs !

We were 4-56 against ODU. That's not a typo. The good news is most of our gals are underclass(wo)men. The bad news is we still haven't beaten a good team.

Lady Monarchs are terrible this year, but it's ALWAYS a good thing when we beat ODU. No complaint.
This was a terrific win for the ladies!

Trailed by sixteen and came back to win going away. ODU not very good this year but they have at least three
3 and 4star players on their team and we whomped them (see ODU whiner boards this morning!).

Coach Swanson has this program rapidly improving..and with just two recruiting classes in school, Just wait until he has four recruiting classes of his own here!

People may downgrade our record because we've beaten some bad teams, but hust two years ago we couldn't have beaten the a W&M women's intramural team.

And nioce to see almost 3500 people exposed to Coach Swanson's up-temp game last night.
Surprisingly the ladies are leading powerhouse JMU 34-33
Following the JMU game on stat cast. Tribe down 4 with under a minute. Scoreless in the last 3+ minutes. Teams are shooting a combined 36-122 from the field.

Update: down 2 with 15 seconds to go and the ball after a Masaquel steal. POTG goes to Masaquel from the box score. 50% FG, 11 rebounds 12 points, 4 steals.

JMU has 2 fouls to give, but fouls a shooter. Tremba makes the first and JMU calls 30 second TO. 5 seconds left.
