The Vikings play tonight at Savage Hall on the campus of the University of Toledo. CSU is currently 2-4 with wins over Malone and Rider. I watched a good portion of their most recent loss to second ranked Maryland. I'll say this for the Vikings, they play hard.

CSU is averaging about 56 points per night and the leading scorer is 6'7 Junior Demonte Flannigan. Flannigan scores just under 12 points and grabs just over 6 boards per night. The Vikings have a nice duo in the backcourt wit 6'3 freshman Rob Edwards scoring 10.7 per night and 6'2 junior Andre Yates scoring about 9 per night.

Coach Waters is playing 9 guys per game and is preaching pressure and uptempo basketball with this group.

I have got to think that Kent State will get what they want inside and should have enough offense to outscore Cleveland State. 60 points should do it.

Kent State - 68
Cleveland State - 55
Jimmy Hall notches a double - double and Kellon Thomas scores 15 for the good guys.
Anyone know if there's a stream available for this game?
Game is on ESPN3 and is on the American Sports Network on tv. In the Youngstown area the game is going to be on channel 15 MNT live. I also see the game got pushed back to 330 instead of 3.

Thanks, that's exactly why I wasn't seeing it on ESPN3. Was looking at 3, not 3:30.
Tight defense on both sides. One for eleven from 3 is hurting us.
Geez, seems like there's a whistle on every play both ways.
CSU in the double bonus before the 10 minute mark.
Haha, wow so it goes to a commercial break but they don't actually put up commercials and we get to listen to the CSU announcers conversing. "Kent's not going to win the MAC with this three point shooting." "No, there's no way." "Heck, they won't beat Akron like this." "No, definitely not" "Kent's pretty good, but Akron's better." "For sure."

Please someone get that audio and play in the locker room every day.
Hard fought victory!
Sloppy last 30 seconds but overall a scrappy win. Very impressed with the way Hall played in the second half. If he's going to pass out of a double team like that Spicer is going to have a lot of big nights. He was great today as well. Going to need to find some three point shooting though. From what I've seen it seems Cancer might be our top 3pt shooter. He needs to embrace that role and not hesitate when he's open.
Anyone know why Marvin Jones did not play?
Got to take this one at the Q. I have to laugh at the conversation taking place with the CSU radio guys, my partner in crime and I had similar discussions in the first half. For what its worth, here are my takeaways:

Kent played hard for 40 minutes. At times they were out of control (Pollard especially) but the effort was there. I can see how the Flashes hung around against Pitt in the second half.

There were times when the offense was stagnant. In the first half it was hard to understand why they weren't feeding Hall more. Sure, CSU was packing it in but there was not one post player on the Vikings who should have kept the Flashes from pounding it in. Of course, if a few three pointers had fallen I'd be singing a different tune.

I'll tell you something you already know...Jimmy Hall can play. He didn't throw up any junk at all. When it wasn't there for him, he dished it and beat some double teams with great passes to Spicer. Hall did a great job of being patient and letting it come to him. As for Spicer, he has improved and its good to see. His hands are not perfect, but they seem much better.

Kent went to a 1-3-1 with Ortiz at the top and was able to extend the lead. That was a very active look. I think I saw some 2-3 as well. Hall had 3 fouls at the time (probably 13 minutes left) and finished with 3 fouls. That alone is reason for the zone. But it really did look good. The one defensive issue that I didn't like was guards leaving their feet way to easily. Luckily, CSU couldn't finish.

When under control, Pollard can play. They may also be on to something with Walker. You can tell he is athletic enough to play in the MAC. Last thing, Spicer played a helluva a game. Thats enough from me! Go Flashes!

First, CSU ain't winning sh!t. So they can go ahead and muzzle themselves. And the last thing about their comments is that KSU will have something to say about who wins the MAC. So they can just sit back and watch us compete for the conference title while they are sucking hind tit in their weak conference.
Spicer with 22pts & 8rebs, doubled his career high.

I wasn't able to watch the CSU game or any of the games thus far, just listen to portions of each game on the radio. With that said, can anyone comment on what they think the rotation will be moving forward? Has Avery & Walker been as advertised?
