Per ESPN.
He stay
Must have been told Georgia was looking at other options. If Georgia called, though, he'd be boom outta here faster than Ward's 40 time

Lmao. As would most other coaches in fbs football.
Congrats to Houston! Great news for the league despite the butt hurt from some fans. I wonder if Houston could get a pretty decent preseason ranking next year?
Of course is going to stay one year and he leaves it doesn't look good for him
"But! But! He's leaving! Somewhere someone is going to entice him! No chance he coaches UH's bowl game! This isn't what the insiders promised!"

lol goergia just commisioned a search commitee this morning, their AD says it wide open, goeriga hasnt decided to turn anyone down yet...

im not saying herman turned down goergia but it looks like he plans to stay at houston unless an amazing deal comes to his table, he is letting them come to him and not constantly looking like some coaches
"But But But what about Houston's recruits??? You have a 5 star, 4 star, yada yada" lol
He's agreed in principle to stay at Houston. I haven't heard he's signed the contract yet. I always doubted he'd leave Houston after one year though. But Georgia's about to ramp up its coaching search. He won't sign in principle until they say no.

As he should. You guys offered him a really competitive contract even at the P5 level, and you guys return a team next year that arguably could be better than this years. Fuente knew he needed to leave after this year Lynch is a potentially once in a lifetime QB for Memphis and his stock wasn't going to ever be higher than it was this year. Herman very well could raise his stock further and could be in line for the Texas job as soon as next season.
That search firm talk is just a smoke screen. Georgia has their man, and will announce it after the SEC CCG. It has always been about Kirby Smart.

And talk about a mad fan base USC east had a top 2 of Herman and Smart and they are about to get neither LOL

That is precisely why UGA jumped. They knew Smart had one foot in SC.
Now watch Richt land at Miami.
Every coach wants different things. We will learn soon enough what Herman wants. Most of these coaches move onto these "bigger programs" and get canned within 5 years. Look at Sumlin, A&M wants to chop his head off right now. Now compare that to Gary Patterson. He is a God and will have a statue, gets paid plenty of money, and can compete for championships. Even though TCU is in a P5 league it isn't considered an elite job. He could have jumped at any point.

GP is in the minority I know. I will be really curious to see how the Herman career ends up. I'll enjoy the seasons he will provide us though.

And Fuente, Campbell, etc, are off the table... Lol

I think that's possible. Richt said today he is open to all offers.

Not sure I fully agree with that decision on their part. Smart could just as easily be the next Will Muschamp as the next Nick Saban. It does make watching the USC east meltdown fun as hell though LOL

If I'm USC east I offer Richt today.
