could get interesting in December..
Chit
I don't think we need to worry unless a historically great program comes calling.
good thing we just signed him to an extension..makes it harder on Memphis to buy it out. of course, on the flip side they will get a load of cash from Fuente's buyout if he bolts..

First, Memphis has deeper pockets, but they won't be spending what they offered Fuente. They will be paying more than what we are paying Clark. Any money they save on Fuente will be spent on buying Pastner out.

Second, I can't imagine Clark working as hard as he has to bring UAB back and leave before the first football is snapped.

Third, the UAB administration will be helping Clark to pack his bags.
$600,000 buyout IIRC

Pocket change to someone serious
Ray is fapping.
If Clark wanted to leave for a program like Memphis he would've done it in December when we didn't have a team. I have a hard time seeing him sticking out like he did just on the hope that UAB football would return and then when it does return, leaving before the first snap. He has expended an awful lot of energy to get this thing back going again. I really think he wants to see this through and really do something special for Birmingham.

He had chances to leave for places like Memphis...and for coordinator jobs at P5 schools and didn't. There is almost zero chance he does now. If Missouri or the like comes calling then...who knows.
He needs one more year for his state retirement from Alabama. He's not leaving that for Memphis.

Bingo

600,000 buyout X 5 years. Buyout should be in the neighborhood of 3M
I hold nothing past no one. We'll see when we get to that bridge.
Heck, who's to say Haase isn't gone after this year if he does good and a big school comes calling. You never know.
I don't think Clark would be busting his butt if he was looking to leave.

"Just FWIW - I’m not buying the Bill Clark/Memphis stuff for a variety of reasons."

Seems like it's a flat $600,000 http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2015/...ach_b.html
Clark is not leaving.

Now in 2019 if a big time job opens up we at least need to be competitive. We better be ready to make him the highest paid coach in C-USA. Do that and he sticks with us IMHO.

There is a lot of gene Bartow in Bill Clark.

I have no doubt that Haase is getting offers and probably gone after a strong season.
After having to deal with our AD and President and all the BS I now think he will jump and I don't blame him. No love lost with our new AD. I think MB is spot on. Maybe the boosters can convince him to stay. That's our only hope.

There is a lot that has gone on behind the crimson and green curtain.
