I think we will handle JSU pretty easily, I say UAB 85 JSU 67

Illinois lost to North Florida at home for their first game 93-81, beat North Dakota State on the road 80-74, and lost @ Providence by 1pt 60-59.
Also, they have a familiar big man in Mike Thorne Jr who was at Charlotte last year. They have some depth as well with 8/9 guys who play per game. This game will be a little harder for us but hopefully we come ready to play. UAB 77 Illinois 71

#7 Iowa State will be really tough. They will definitely be seeking revenge after we spoiled their highly anticipated deep run in the tourney. I hope we can match their intensity. They return Big 12 defensive POY in Jameel Mckay and last years leading scorer Georges Niang. They start 3 seniors and 2 juniors. Every one of their starting five is averaging 13+ ppg (after only 2 games). I hope we can really bring our A game and get a top 10 win on our resume. I hope I am wrong but I see us dropping this one 76-67.

JSU has had problem keeping players.

Seems fair. We don't need to drop 2 at the ECC. Beating Illinois and playing Iowa St tight would be a good showing. Of course winning the whole damn thing would be even better.

We really need to win the whole thing at this point. Iowa state appears to be our only shot for a good win at this point.

Virginia Tech isn't a terrible team. I would not be surprised in the least to see Buzz have them prepared to upset Iowa St.

They lost to Alabama state. That is not the sign of a good team, I don't give a damn how good asu is this year.

First of all, I thought we were playing Jackson State next, not Jacksonville State. Why? Because the scoring sheet from the Alabama State game last Monday night listed Nov. 22 - vs. Jackson State. So I apologize for any references to Jackson State in previous threads. BTW, Jackson State would likely beat Jacksonville State.

KenPom ranks 351 teams. He has Jacksonville State at 320. Enough said.

Alabama State is 277 and Troy is 272. Auburn is currently at 149.

Illinois is ranked 68th by KenPom right now.

Need to at least split the ECC games. Best case scenario is to beat Illinois (a possible WTF loss) to play Iowa State (assuming they beat VT). Iowa State could be our only Top 50 chance this year...something that's incredible to imagine.

We started quick against Troy.

If we don't sleepwalk through the first half we will drop 110. I was factoring in slow start. This might be the last year for my buddy James Green.
