Are these LSU people out of their mind?? People can say what they want about Miles...he's a darn good football coach. He'll be unemployed for about 5 seconds and he will win wherever he goes. LSU needs to take a look at Tennessee...
If this happens and we lose Fuente i'll love to have Les Miles here
Nice landing spot for Fuentes.
Les Miles has had the talent to win multiple national titles. He's won one.

That BCS title is approaching being 10 years ago. This will likely be the third straight year they have underperformed relative to expectations.
Les Miles has greatly underachieved at LSU
Les Miles got smoked by 21 points @ Bama with Mettenberger at QB, Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry at WR, and Jeremy Hill/Alfred Blue at RB.
Les Miles is a clown. He let the clock run out losing to the Vols, but the Vols ended up having too many people on the field. LSU gets another play and scores to win. His postgame interview? "We found a way to win." Geezus.
No one has done less with so much more than Les Miles has over the past 5 years

Rob

A $17 mil buyout is pretty strong.
I'm sure Tennessee fans said the same types of things about Fulmer ...

Miles gets 10 wins in the SEC #Wast 70% of the time. Finishes Top 15 70% of the time. He's been to 2 national championship games and won one. Elite recruiter and puts guys in the pros... if not for Nick Saban and Cam Newton, LSU would have won the West 6 out of 10 years...

The SEC West is hard.

If LSU thinks they can do better, with Saban in the same division, go for it...

They'll regret it.
Should be an interesting week in Baton Rouge.
Closing the season with 3 straight (maybe even 4 straight) losses certainly puts Miles on the hot seat. This is a tough one since Louisiana has a boatload of talent in-state and they are the only game in the state (Tulane is barely even a d-1 program nowadays). Saban won a national title there before Miles, Miles as won one as well. We'll see. Miles is 62 years old but the odd thing is that he's a great recruiter. Usually with the older coaches/coasting it is the recruiting that tails off. In Miles' case, I think the guy just got lucky a couple of times with all of that talent.

If he loses to aTm at home, he's gone for sure. If he wins, I would still put it 50/50 that he's gone.
I don't think it's the losses or the overall record, it's the way they lose. The offense is prehistoric. Now that Miles isn't fielding an NFL defense anymore, his sh!tty offensive philosophy is being exposed, and it sticks out like a sore thumb when you have as much talent on that side of the ball as LSU does. Their fans are fed up with it and I don't blame them.
10.3 wins per year over 10 years.

You don't fire that guy unless you are 100% convinced you can do better.

If you're a big time coach, you're gonna look at that and say...I have two down years in a row and I'm gonna get run out of town?

No chance.

It sounds like it's a done deal...absolutely ridiculous. As a rival fan, I'm all for it though ...
Les Miles has 7 10-win seasons. LSU had 4 before he arrived.
someone emailed me that miles has been fired

18 million over 8 years settlement

i dont see any post on the major outlets
they don't need to can Miles, they need to get rid of Cameron and get a real OC.

also, I saw where Miles buyout is not that high if he takes another job within a certain timeframe.
Has a coach with the current #2 recruiting class ever been fired before?

LSU is a young team. If someone else does get the job the cupboard is not empty, it's stuffed.
