I thought our often maligned secondary played above themselves tonight. They really came out and played some old school Rocket 'D'.

I was concerned at the half knowing that the second half might be unproductive as the team at times has only performed well for one half of any game. The unsportsmanlike penalties were disappointing but, other than that, I think everybody stepped up and executed. Even the rugby style punt worked!

Is this the closest the team has come to putting a full game together?
We might have had a more complete game against ASU but not another better game. Just smashmouthed them.
we pretty much smash everybody. the only times i've seen us not be the more physical team was the 4th quarters of iowa st and NIU and few first quarters against weak teams.

rockets now have wins over the mac west champ, the probable sun belt champ, and the current (tie) SEC west 2nd place team by an avg of 17 points a game with two of the 3 on the road. also wins over a probable 7-5 CMU team (road) and a dangerous Big 12 team in Iowa st. beat the 4 weak teams on sched by avg of 26 pts/game. remaining games against winning wmu team and possibly bg again.

i see NIU stubbing their toe again. against decent competition they are 2-3 w a comeback win against ut and an 11 pt road win against a %500 buffalo team. their last 2 games will be close. a motivated wmu team playing for a championship and a usually solid ohio team that will have one more day of prep and rest and will be playing in front of bowl reps.
We have a very good team. No weaknesses to speak of. We will all complain some but this is a really talented team with an energized staff. This team is big, fast, strong and DEEP. The issue is like the best teams in college ball (OSU, Alabama) its almost impossible play great and get emotional for every game... even the coaches. We will defeat WMU and hopefully play a "bigger" program and top off a magical season... well done Coach Campbell!

That's why good teams string well played games back to back to back if need be. look at the current run Alabama is on or the last three games OSU were on last year during playoffs. Good teams, that know how to win and close out games perform at this time of year, not September. My guess is UT will be ready, especially if Campbell is the coach I think he will become, which is special. Hell Beckman got lucky at times and would win a big game or two in November, but no big runs.
When the defenses are focusing on Hunt certainly could use more misdirection-counter type stuff. In the one shortage yardage 4th down play
surprised UT didn't run that Fake pitch to RB outside the Tackle with the TE getting the FB on the inside.
