I agree with you. The atmosphere over there is getting bad, even among some normally good posters. It often happens in October of each season, when fans begin to realize that many of their preseason dreams aren't going to come true........and frustration and anger sets in.

That's the main impression I'm getting over there now. There are a lot of frustrated and angry fans right now, and they're lashing out. I'm frustrated myself.

When you top that off with moderators who seemingly refuse to delete flamers, there you have it.

I hate this flaming crap, even in fun. I wish there were harder lines against it, and it was always immediately eliminated. Does nobody any good at all....

It wasn't too bad until "hodgie" showed back up. No doubt that the poster is a regular.

I don't post much these days due to that crap. :mad:

I was wondering where you went to! I called my dad on sunday & the first words out of his mouth were "God I'm glad we didn't go to that damn game!"

Hey Gal, no hard feeling over there I hope. I wasn't attacking you, just trying to point out the harshness of your comment, & using part of your own criteria towards you in an effort to illustrate my point.

I stayed away for a little while to let things calm down. I was WAAAAAAAAAAAAY too pissed after that LSU game to go there.

Notice you don't see Gamecoq posting over there this week. He and I had a little PM chat Monday morning about what was going on there.

Yeah, I noticed he was MIA as well. I too sent him a PM a little while ago, but haven't heard back from him. Hope he's not gone for good. Maybe you can get him to come over here.

Personally, I felt the need to at least somewhat defend our turf, & I can live with that.

I am a little disappointed that so many fans seem to have decided to cash it in on the rest of the season because of one loss. Yeah, it was a bad one, & I too was ready to throw up.

Personally, we're exactly game for game where I thought we'd be so far this season in the W-L column, & with a win over Vandy we'll still be on pace for my original prediction of 6-6 this year. Maybe that's why I'm not as po'ed as so many others. I never in a million years thought we'd be able to beat LSU at the start of the year.

My guess a lot of the folks that are cashing it in & going off on Pinkins were probably the same ones who were expecting an 8 win or better season due to the incoming freshmen & returning RS/Fr & Sophs.

Coq hasn't posted over here in a while - good luck with that :D

I am more worried about Skip leaving for Arizona or something - I think if he leaves, Lou might leave us high and dry :frown:

Yeah, I got into it with hodgie a little, incidently is that Lee? I dont mind a little flaming but when you cant even read the board for all the crap he puts on there then something has to change.

Maybe when Lou leaves, we can get lucky (as Miss State board thinks) and hire Jackie Sherrill as USC's replacement. Maybe he'll lead our team to a 2-9 season too?....maybe take USC out of the SEC and into C-USA?

nope, never said no such thing about Sherrill being the coach at USC or them getting lucky by having him, but face it, Lou has taken you as far as you are going to go, take off the garnet and black shades and realize that, and if you come over to the State board and want to talk crap at least know what the hell you are talking about troll. Do you know anything? Since this is a 12 game schedule that would be 2-10 but get your facts straight, that was 3-9, see 9+3=12. There is your basic math problem for the day, simple math to start you off.

First, I never mentioned anything about you saying Jackie Sherrill coming to USC. Personally, I would not want him as USC's head coach (especially with the job he did at MSU). Just to remind you of last years game in Columbia, SC where USC won by 24 points....I would not talk a whole lot about your teams program. I realize USC has problems, so does every team.
Second, I do not where garnet and black shades....I can see fine with 20/20 vision.
Third, I know what I am talking about. Who are you to question my intelligence. You are not my mother or father, and I would not question your intelligence because I do not know you, but by words that you type on this forum.
Fourth, "Do you know anything?".......do you? I know enough not to state messages that would offend a person personally (such as you did previous to this message). I would advise you to review what you type onto this forum, and not assult someone on a personal level.
Fifth, I realize that this season is now a 12 game schedule, apparently you did not get the point....and I figure you will never get the point.
Sixth, trying to insult my intelligence online is a waste of time in my book. Do you really think that what you say really means a whole lot, no. If I were you, I would not do that again. fair enough, keep those nice words you just spouted off in mind also before you hit the submit key, for future reference. Now as far as Sherrill, actually he did a pretty damn good job at State over the course of 13 years, see we were never all that great in football to begin with, Sherrill did bring us up to a level that we were winning on a consistent basis, yeah we have had a rough last 3 years, want to know what caused that, FYI, relying too much on JUCO's and not on high school recruits. Presently we have gone back to high school recruits and the talent is there, just no experience overall except in some of the offensive positions but overall the defense is mostly sophs and freshmen. So by you saying with the job he has done at State, you are telling me you really have no clue as to what he has done at State, really makes me no nevermind if you do or not, but don't badmouth something you obviously know nothing about. See I do my homework on all of the SEC teams, not just State, USC pretty much suffers from the same thing but more on the offensive side of the ball, based on what I have seen thus far.

Oh and icerocc, I guess I can see where you are coming from, like the saying goes, you are only as good as your last game but even still, Sherrill has been, in the overall scheme of things, good for MSU but I think, as well as himself, that it was the right time to get out. Yes we will remember the last 2 seasons plus this one but if anyone bases his tenure at State on just these past 3 seasons, then they are selling what he did for us short and that is not a fair thing to do.

Oh, no.......no hard feelings at all. I just think that, for whatever reason, we have a greater tendency to midunderstand one another than any other two posters in all of cyberspace!!!

Things are getting worse over there today.

I was wondering where a lot of you went.....haven't seen you post on AST much.

I've about had it w/ all the Clemson flamers and attitudes on that board.
