This morning they were talking about how these terrorists have changed the encryption in their communications and it's a game changer. Chris Christie might get a boost from the attacks. He will be able to hammer Rand Paul now in the next debate. This has to help Trump the most. He's been as anti immigration as any. I could also see Trump having a lot of cross over appeal. Those are some of my quick thoughts. From the ABC report it seems like we had a good handle on their communications until recently.
Yeah, **** Snowden. Bullet to the head.
Yep,

He basically gave out our game plan and how we were tracking them.
He could have made his point by selectively releasing info. He gave up too much.
Ron Paul: "Here's the solution to Paris: Reject regime change, stop shipping weapons, no more bombs, and robust defense at home."

That last part is the essential piece of his message that the neocon right is unwilling to give him credit for--and unwilling to embrace themselves.
I definitely have a civil libertarian side, but I would be lying if I told you it doesn't cross my mind that the people who are apologists for the NSA know lots of things about potential threats that they aren't disclosing.
Robust defense at home includes:

1. No unvetted refugees released into US. Keep them in Secured Locations like you saw in Scarface.
2. Local Law Enforcement surveillance of Religious/Cultural Groups affiliated with Middle East populations.
3. Lots of National Security Wiretap Warrants through FISA.
4. NSA gets the encription keys from the handset manufacturers

When he reported the US spying on US citizens I was ok the moment he began to talk about our intelligence gathering overseas he became a traitor and ought to be tried as such.

Or the victim of an unfortunate accident.

My feelings are similar.
Yep, these dumb cave dwellers had NO IDEA we were trying to spy on them before Snowden. Yet, at the same time, they're savvy enough to encrypt their data in a way that we can't get. I'm sure they would have continued on forever with absolutely no changes to their communication without him. Maybe they would have even created a Facebook event that gave us the exact time and location of the Paris attack!

Geez, this thread is so representative of the serf mentality in America nowadays. The government unlawfully unleashed the most expansive surveillance network in the history of the world on its citizenry, going far beyond anything the Stasi did, to spy on everyday citizens without their knowledge or consent, and without a warrant. The head of the NSA (Clapper) brazenly lied to Congress about it (a felony), and didn't even face any repercussions. The government then lied about how effective NSA spying had been in preventing terrorism. But few care about any of that. They are only angry at the one guy who threw away his cushy life to try to stop it. So angry that they will happily discard due process to execute him and satisfy their blood lust. Unreal.

Nope. Snowden still a hero. Need more of him.

I tend to agree.07-coffee3
He could have released that they were spying on us without giving out the details of the how to. There is a difference.
How anyone slobbers on Snowdens knob I'll never know.
And when there is an attack on US soil, BlazerFan (and all the other liberal water carriers) will be posting this link to show that it is the Republican's fault for blocking funding for electronic surveillance.

Someday we will learn how many Congressional votes and Supreme Court decisions were altered by the NSA's database.

It needs to be shut down.
