Why did UAB get off to a slow start?

"Looking back at the tape, it was a combination of that I was too conservative as a coach in the playcalling and the game plan," Haase said.

Auburn game. 1st game of season. Conservative game plan.
I would halve liked to press them some and sent in 4 or five guys at a time. I really like wearing teams down and perhaps being more aggressive there would have worn them down to beat them in the end.
1st game at home with that crowd... we weren't going to wear them down even.with their limited bench.
It could definitely work later in the OOC season.
IDK we never went after them. We were so passive. I just wish we would press more.
Yeah everytime their backup pg was in we should have pressed. He could not handle the ball. Overall besides cokely we played as poorly as I've seen since the fu's last year
I have never seen a guard palm the ball nearly every trip down the floor like Sunshine. Yea we should have taken advantage of that.
They were even missing some of their key players in the game & we struggled with their 2nd & 3rd teamers.
we came out flat and weren't ready to play. The only player who truly brought his A game was Cokley.
Baxter played well & Robert Brown had a ton of assists.

I think Baxter, Norton, and Brown all played fairly well (in decreasing order of how well I think they played). Cokley was the only player who showed up and brought his A game.
Mehenti & Lee back down when the paint gets physical. It will continue to get us beat until it stops.
